Sunbar wrote Austin Super Seven as this advert. Only made from 1961-62 they had all the trim of a Mini-Cooper with the standard Mini engine and gearbox.......

Handlebar bumpers mean Super Mini (Jan-Oct 62) instead of Super Seven (June-Dec 61), and it's a 1963 plate. But being France, it could be Super 850??

chammoThis is not a Pininfarina Series II Cabriolet. Low nose and bumper over riders OUTSIDE aux. lights confirm this is a California Spider! Likely a short wheel base with open headlights.

PS Of that car were realized few,almost-experimental,ones(5,seems)powered by Rolls-Royce 4lt.6cyl.engines of Vanden Plas Princess 4R of 1964-1968,but the reorganization of BMC in BMH(British Motor Holding)before(1967)and BLMC(British Leyland Motor Corp.)then(1968)will sign the swan song of Big Healeys and that interesting project(but on an aged coque)was sunk(Healeys with that engine were recognizable for a small RR Brand placed on the trunk hood,as the one shown on the encyclopaedia"The Car",published thru 1984-1985 by Orbis in UK--of which I own Italian issued version)

PS2 At end of Eighties that car will revive in an "authorized replica appointed by Healey's family"called just Healey(this time without Austin);in the wawe of revivals of old motoring glories, into same period appears also the Haldane 100,but based on originary Big Healey, the 1953 100,with similar body

sixcyl FRSame kind of Autocar truck than this one? ...it seems.. /vehicle_40602-Autocar-DC-100.html

You know Firebird, it is plausible to find such an US truck in a french 1950/60 movie, many of WWII US army vehicles were recycled as specific civil transportation purpose at that time, and if this one is a post WWII truck, it could been imported by US Army forces who were present on France area until 1966

Anyway, I think we can assume it as an Autocar A64 or DC100?

2006-06-19 20:00
sixcyl FRUp to you, is there a sliding opening window on the rear door or not?...if no, it's a very rare early model 1961, otherwise it's a 1962/64 model 2006-06-19 19:10
