-- Last edit: 2014-04-10 18:10:31 |

Ray B. ![]() | I can't, but the side trim on the hood is UNMISTAKABLY '36 Plymouth. I have factory photos of these in the Crestline book. The only difference is that the headlights, here, appear chromed, and were painted body color as far as I can tell on the B&W pics. But the car was an export, and 20 years old, there may be any resaon. The hood ornament (see Bogart's carHigh Sierra)is missing, but seemed to be an option as it is also missing on some of those factory pics. Also, it was kind of forbidden in France in the fifties was removed on many U.S. cars. | 2007-07-27 10:56
DynaMike ![]() | It's the first time that I see a Dyna taxi G7 in colour! When these taxis were released, Panhard made an advertisement with the text "Un derrick en plein Paris" (=a drilling derrick in the middle of Paris, because these Panhards used so much less petrol than the prewar Renaults that were still common as taxis) | 2007-07-26 23:44
DynaMike ![]() | The first Citroën Type H (1947) had a canvas upper side. I don't know when exactly this changed into the ondulated metal sides... The name HY wan't used until 1959, so this is a Type H (or HZ). | 2007-07-26 23:36
DynaMike ![]() | Staircase-shaped grille: 1951-1952. | 2007-07-26 20:17
DynaMike ![]() | This type of rounded grille was used in 1954 and 1955. The onle difference was the size of the wheels: 15" in 1954, 14" in 1955... The right one is quite basic and with big wheels (Quotidienne, 1954), the left one is more upmarket (Luxe, 1955). | 2007-07-26 20:14
DynaMike ![]() | On the left and on the right are both Familiales (1952-1954: all chrome bumper, license plate under the rear door), in the middle is a Commerciale (1950-1954: license plate under the rear door). | 2007-07-26 18:45
pilou ![]() | It does not look Salmson but general styling of the car does seem US.The nearest I can come by is a 1936 Plymouth DeLuxe Convertible Coupe with rumble seat ( P-1) ( hood louvres , painted radiator cowl , one piece windshield, cowl mounted wipers artillery wheels;shape of rear deck and rumble seat , rear lights) although the picture is somewhat distorded at the front. Can anyone read Plymouth on the spare wheel cover? My eyes are not up to it. | 2007-07-26 15:38

Kees-Jan ![]() | I agree, the only thing not matching is the bended stangetje between the headlights, but considering the general state of the car this could very well have been bent by people sitting on it ![]() |

rpcm ![]() | It's a 1956 model year MG A, a Roadster version with 1500 engine. The same car ( sporting a boot rack ) appeared in "À pied, à cheval et en voiture" and curiously it also lost one headlight ( the other ). -- Last edit: 2007-12-14 19:15:25 |

DynaMike ![]() | It's a Peugeot 202 Berline Découvrable, introduced in October 1939. The license plate is slightly more vertical than the line of the body itself, since September 1939, so it's a model year 1940. After the war it wasn't before 1948 that the Découvrable came back, but then it didn't have these 'Pilote' wheels anymore. Edit: 'introduced in October 1939' should be 1938... -- Last edit: 2007-07-27 21:18:03 |
