ManuelB FRMany 1939 & 1940 Chevrolet trucks were imported just before the German invasion, both for civilian & military use. So not so an anachronism... 2015-06-01 03:59

JavierDiesel ESIt's a VERY, VERY rare Panhard 178 with 47mm gun in a new turret hurriedly developed and built days before the armistice of 1940. Just a handful were built, in fact till today I knew only one picture of it, discovered and published some years back by the french magazine Steel Masters.

antp BEWe just have to pick a manufacturer name, as it cannot be known I suppose :/
Could MIAG also be a maker for this one? Like the few others Pz.Kpfw.III of the site:
/vehicle_42295-MIAG-PzKpfwIII-AusfJ-1941.html
(this one being Ausf.G instead of Ausf.J or Ausf.N, I do not know, as I do not even know what it means :D)

wheelsinreels USThe car is a 1939 Mercury Coupe...first year for Mercury! Body was same in 1940, but the "barrel" tail lights mark this one as a '39. I'm guessing the apparatus it is towing is one of those wood-buring World War II-vintage charcoal gas generators. 2007-01-26 01:55

2491tj EN37mm Gun Motor Carriage M-6..hurridely produced in early 1942,mounting the standard us army 37mm anti tank gun on a naval pedestal mount in the reinforced bed of a WC weapons carrier, they were only intended for training but a few entered combat in North Africa, following the Operation Torch landings in 1942..useless against tanks,it was a good sniping weapon with a range of a couple of miles.eventualy, most were converted back into standard Weapons Carriers by the removal of the weapon..so in this case the vehicle should not be in the title, just 37mm Gun Motor Carriage M-6. 2007-01-24 14:31
