tore-40 NOSeveral other ways of numbering them exist: While (English) Wikipedia sees them as only four generations, some such as Parkers Guide count to five, while the UK based (The) Transit Van Club count to 8, all using 1965+ as MkI. Then the Ford Wiki also counts to Mk8 (not updated, first seven shown) including the Taunus Transit. The Ford Wiki also tries to compare UK MKs to the German 8 generations system.

Claiming one system is correct and everything else is wrong is - well, kinda wrong. Still, for listing here there should be one common generation system, different MKs for UK, DE, TR or whatever market they are sold would make a mess. Let's all agree to disagree.

I guess this is how you see it:

Taunus Transit: Mk1
Transit MkI: Mk2
Transit MkII: Mk3
Transit MkIII 86-94: Mk4
Transit MkIII 95-00: Mk5
Transit MkIV 00-06: Mk6
Transit MkV 07-13: Mk7

We don't count the Taunus Transit as part of the range as the Thames filled its spot for the UK market and it started life in 1954 as the FK-Series van (not Transit). Some of these "Marks" are just facelifts. But there were several smaller facelifts along the way (1971, 1975, 1984, 1991) not counted as separate marks, so it's kind of weird to have some counted as separate marks and others not. I like the IMCDb way better. The MkV is just a major rework of the MkIV, as it the MkII to the MkI, as they share the same bodies and floorplan, but the front sheetmetal is changed in such a way that it's counted as a separate mark. This can not be said for the 2nd facelifted MkIII. With that out of the way, as well as the Taunus Transit, this is a MkV.

Lateef NOWe count these as facelifted MkVs here on IMCDb. 2016-10-23 11:27

Weasel1984 PLNo closer view of the door handles? It has bumper of 1978+ model, step below doors of 1985+ one, grille badge of 1974+ BUT also another one above grille, used earlier in the years 1968-1973 (1970-73 in case of ROL).
