Lateef wrote The majority of active-duty 240s in the Oslo area had been retired by 2002. Others serving with rural police departments and lensmenn were kept in active and semi-service much longer. In 2016, a 1993 model serving in Bruvoll, Hedmark, was finally retired and donated to the Volvo museum of Göteborg.

That's very cool. Thank you!

It's not that bad at first glance. Would certainly trick the average Norwegian. But yes, not very convincing to us nerds. The stripes are the most fake-looking, being slapped on at an angle rather than being straight. The "Politi"-typeface and shield are wrong for the era, rather copying the one introduced in 1996, however the letters are still too far apart. The writing is also put in the wrong position on the hood. Lightbar is also wrong, too aerodynamic. To top it all off, 940s didn't see widespread use until about 1995 and they certainly did not use the chrome grille. A 240 would have been more correct.

I am, however, astonished that they put a vehicle number on it - that's a detail the fakes usually leave out.

Thank you for the info. :) Do you know when the last 240 was used by the Norwegian police? The last one in Sweden I've seen in service was in late 1997. It was a 245 K9 car.

Lateef NOStock footage from news coverage of Euronymous' murder at Tøyengata 40, Oslo. Therefore a real police car - lightbars were fitted from 1988 (replacing traditional dual rotating lights) and being a base model due to the wheel style, I can say it's pre-1990 - as all 240s bought by Norwegian police departments after 1990 were in GL-trim. 2019-03-12 13:54

Lateef NOYes - probably a Norwegian location, the survival rate of these are relatively high here compared to other countries due to strong sales and a modest cult-following. 2019-03-12 13:12

Maybe it was in official usage before, but due the unoriginal paintwork it's not visible any more.
There are no leashes around the windows, so no military usage.
