Yoda US1988-up, so slightly too new for the time period. 2023-04-25 03:42
Yoda USAnother car that was absolutely everywhere in the '80s and doesn't survive in enough numbers to populate the backgrounds the way they should be. 2023-04-25 03:38
Baube QCi wonder why.. in the storyline is there such a big difference for the car being a 1986 vs a 1987 ? 2023-04-25 03:13
Yoda USThose were real composite headlights, but here they're mocked up to look like an '86 model which would've still had sealed beams. 2023-04-25 03:08

MercedesAMG USI have to agree as cool as it is to see the E23 733i in this series it’s a bit unrealistic for a high school kid to be driving back then. If I’m not mistaken the sales price for a 1984 733i was $36k to $38k which isn’t outrageous today but adjusting for inflation it was a very very expensive luxury vehicle. Back in those days you could buy a modest home in the Silicon Valley area for $110k. Big luxury Cadillacs and Lincoln’s didn’t exceed the high $20ks. In the early 80’s my older brother went to HS at Woodside High School in Redwood City/Woodside California and a spoiled country club kid’s Beemer back then was a 1982 320i. Then again when I was in high school some spoiled kids parents bought him a brand new full sized Lexus LS400 so maybe it’s not so far fetched, lol! 2022-10-31 00:25
Burnoutbenja CLSorry if it is, but I can't find Eddie Munson's van. Appears in episode 1 season 4 2022-09-24 08:03

ReeceTheFanBoy USMight be CG, but it has the 1989+ rear wiper. 2022-09-09 06:35
ReeceTheFanBoy USWe can narrow it down to pre-1989 as there is no rear wiper (new for 1989). 2022-09-09 06:34

You actually have that backwards.

geoemrick2 a écrit Kinda weird for a high school student to have one of these. Even though mommy and daddy bought it for him, obviously. Still, why wouldn't they buy him something like a 5 or even 3 series? I would think a HS kid would want something sporty.

This is the full sized flagship BMW. It would almost be like buying a HS kid a brand new 1983 Cadillac Brougham or Lincoln Town Car.

But maybe BMW was thought of differently, as more sporty in general. I dunno.

No, you're right. I was thinking that too. Sure, it's a cool classic quirky car for a high schooler to have today, but back then? This was the car exclusively driven by established doctors and attorneys.
2022-09-08 01:22
shervinator US1981–85 Mercedes-Benz 300SD (W126).

The "TURBODIESEL" emblem on the right side of the trunk can be seen in another frame, and no other W126 model had one in that location: https://i.imgur.com/cHxWbFA.png

As a side-note, the car looks to be two-tone Midnight Blue/Matt Gray Metallic, exactly like my '84 300SD!

No, this is a 700-series, the wide boxy styling is a dead giveaway, and the 900-series did not have this front end in America

Exiv96 BEFlat mirrors so 1983 indeed. And the liftback version was only available as a 2.0 litre engine version, so I've put SV11 as chassis code. 2022-08-12 09:02

ReeceTheFanBoy USSPC has 2 yellow 244s, but the lack of trunk badging makes it more likely to be the '82.
