walter ![]() | There weren't the 100/200 names in South Africa for the Typ 44 (and the following C4 4A, apparently) - the 100 was called "400" or "500e" (it depends on the engine and equipment I think, but I should investigate more), and the 200 "500 SE" - this is a 500 SE by the wheels, and looks to have the '88+ doorhandles. | 2017-02-27 19:49
Lateef ![]() | The Laser has a different opera window. It's a 1988-89 Mazda 323 from what I can see of grille and headlights. | 2015-11-11 08:10
tore-40 ![]() | Your link also states the early campers were expensive, probably due to the import of fully assembled campers, rather than cheaper later copies. | 2015-11-11 02:10
eLMeR ![]() | Louver windows usually indicate a Campmobile / Camping-car / Campingwagen or whatever its name was in South Africa (apparently not Kamper, as this latter had no "extra-roof"). This (1968-73 opening) roof should then be a factory-mounted part. But as usual, we're talking about a 40- to 38-year old van (in 2008), so we should keep in mind that it could also have been somewhat "rearranged", although it seems to be still in its original condition. |

simon-a ![]() | Sorry my mistake when uploading thanks, apparently this model 323 [BF] remained in production after 1989 in South Africa, as an entry-level model, also being sold as the Ford Tonic until 2003. | 2015-11-10 19:11
