When they left the former DDR, they bought masses of used cars there, mostly Soviet brands, Lada, Moskvich, Volga (but no Sapos :D), about DDR-cars I haven't heard that much. Otherwise the prices of COMECON-cars collapsed in the DDR within hours after the 1.7.1990, when the D-Mark was introduced there, so the former extreme overpriced cars there were flogged, often even trashed or thrown into the field.

rtsbusman1997 USMakes sense to me. I feel that if something was made for a country but not having the tell-tale signs (lights, mudflats, etc.) means that it is made for the country. So you could say "Made for EU" for this one. 2011-09-15 01:38
an_unusual_eye USas an opinion, if they were converted by any agent of the manufacturer prior to the original sale (dealer included)... "made for" would be appropriate. just my 2 cents. 2011-09-14 15:04
rjluna2 USThat is a good question  2011-09-14 13:37
tonkatracker USok so I have been reading up on these and I am not sure if these should get a made for tag or not. It seems that these were sold new in Europe BUT they were shipped from the US factories as US-Spec cars and then it was up to the GM dealership in Europe to change the lights/clusters and add indicators etc. So should the get a "Made for EU" tag because the modifications were made at the dealership or is it no different than if the owners converted them themselves? 2011-09-14 07:13

Weasel1984 PL1983 by the doors, but I read once (and can't find this article now), that plastic bumper became stadard for buses exported to SU since 1984 (though it was alredy known since 1981). 2011-06-02 16:50

130rapid PLAfter searching for used UAZ 3151, I think we should change model year when came new windshield and wipers to 1997.
And I found new part of UAZ puzzles - old cast door handles changed to new black (probably plastic) in 1995 MY.
What do you think?

Jale PL469 is entirely military version, and 469 B - civilian. 469 has wheel gears (колесны редуктор), 469 B - not. 2010-08-19 23:23
Weasel1984 PLNice, you have found this.
If we are on these UAZes, it would be also good to clear how it was with this "B" in the name. As I understood: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UAZ-469 in fact military vehicles were just "469" (with bigger ground clearance), and all other versions were usually "469B". On the site seems majority of the military UAZes is listed as 469B
