moxo ![]() | Not an MR5, it's a late Elfin 600. It's a space-frame single-seat car, designed and built by Garrie Cooper, the driver in this picture. It's got a later nose on it than the other Elfin 600 in this film. | 2020-12-12 04:26
marioman3138 ![]() | Technically called the Type 600, built from 68-71. If it is the Joey Bundalin car, it's chassis is 6910. But I can't find anything to confirm it is that car. |

marioman3138 ![]() | four built, from 1971-1972 | 2020-09-16 05:32
993cc ![]() | Maybe 2.0 GTAm engine but body is clearly a rhd 1966-67 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce [105.37] Note rhd Sprint Veloces were only made 1966-67 where lhd were 1965-68. 993cc ![]() | >1965-66 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT [105.04]< Assuming rhd to Japan cars had same code as rhd GB ones. Never seen any info on a special version for Japan. Also note GTA's (as stated at the time of writing) had completely different door handles. The easiest way to tell real from fake as nobody ever bothered with those (and would leave a hole in the door to be filled if removed as normal coupe handles covered a much larger area). edit: rhd cars apparently only 1965-66 -- Last edit: 2020-05-16 01:41:53 |

50sParis ![]() | I agree those front lights look similar, perhaps Toyota based |

50sParis ![]() | I cannot find anything on this car; my thought was Abarth based but it could also be some Japanese custom car. In the film this car crashes and the driver dies; it is part of the storyline. Interestingly, during the qualifying session of the 18th Macau GP Guia race in 1971 (where most of the racing footage in this film is from), a car with the same racing number #78 crashed and the driver ("David Ma from Hong Kong") was killed. This car was a Lotus 47 however. The scenes in which the car here appears were specially made for the film. ![]() |

dsl ![]() | "Shapecraft made aluminium fastback conversions for the Lotus Elan. Designed by Barry Wood, the aluminium tops were bonded to the glassfibre bodies with some having flared in headlights whilst some had rear quarter lights. Conversions were available for both racing and touring and were quoted to increase the speed of the 105 bhp Elan to over 120mph, without impairing acceleration times. It is believed that only 10 or 11 Shapecraft Elans were produced and there is much speculation as to how many remain in existence today." from here. No idea which one this is. |
