Purzel89 DEIt was at a steam machine exhbition at the Ziegeleipark Mildenberg. We saw this car in the closing hours of the exhibition and the owner decided to give me and my father a last trip to the exit. More about the story here:

Thanks for the extra light, the interior door locks look like the ones that Chrysler used. Plus it seems like a big sedan in the 2nd thumbnail so I'd say possibly an LH platform.

Then why comment in the first place saing "Audi by default", when it's clear that you don't possess the necessary skills to crack it anyway?

supcoach USThat doesn't mean the vehicle at the bottom is an Audi. It could be anything. Product placement usually means that the product placed is shown in the most favorable conditions to the product placer. Underwater and smashed is not favorable. 2017-11-30 18:46
mike962 DE^ have you seen the movie ? then you know

furthermore

Citation The Audi RSQ is a mid-engined concept car developed by Audi AG for use as a product placement in the 2004 sci-fi film I, Robot.

supcoach US@mike962 - What do you mean by "Audi sponsored the movie"? Was there a credit at the end of film stating such or did you see this on the tv where Audi may have purchased commercials. 2017-11-30 17:00

mike962 DEbecause it's not that visible ? 2017-11-30 14:42
walter ITBut why does this have to be an Audi or VW by default? Why not a Taurus or another make? 2017-11-30 14:38
supcoach USMy point, was that VWs are less expensive than Audis and if this is a real and not CGI, I'd sink a VW before an Audi. Perhaps these are just ravings of not getting enough sleep last night.. 2017-11-30 14:31
walter ITWhat's the point of that, sorry? This is an older car and visible by the interior only, so where is the product placement?

And it's definitely not an Audi - Neptune said here (look, this is not an Audi :p ) that it could be a Ford Taurus
2017-11-30 14:27
supcoach USSince Audi is a part of Volkswagen, it could be a VW... :) 2017-11-30 14:24

Pagelion@ Mr. Cop,

The reason is because it was sponsored by Audi and of course they are going to make the lead actor drive one. They didn't expect viewers to think about it as much as you have either in regards to his personality.
2015-07-19 23:19
Mr. Cop BYI don't understang why Spooner used this new car. He didn't like robots and can take something old and less computerized. For example, Adam Gibson (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in the 6th Day movie liked everything old and had '57 Cadillac. 2015-07-18 23:07

Not only that.
The RSQ introduced a new design, which they use eversince.
The main part of that redesign is the large,"Single Frame"-grille which dominates the front.

Ishii-kun CAthe way I always figured it, is he was in a car accident before the events of the movie. And based on his very extensive injuries, I would assume he got an extremely large settlement from the insurance company. 2011-02-20 09:49

It looks futuristic.

It's easier to find a Murano, Vehi Cross, Aztek or similar than build your own car of the future.

It is important to remember that not all movie viewers are attentive IMCDBers and may not recognise these cars and as such will think 'oh what a futuristic car that is'
