Sunbar  | I had a 1970 Capri 1600GT XLR for about 4 years, and the quality was terrible even for the 1970s, engine wear, clutch cables regularly breaking, trim falling off and body rot. I seem to remember the front turn indicator lenses were clear with coloured bulbs? At the same time I bought mine from the main dealer they were trying to sell a Capri 3000 in red with completely base trim spec. It was a cancelled order as a new car. The only non-standard feature was, that instead of vinyl the roof was painted gloss black, I guess by the dealership in the hope of shifting it. |

Sandie  | We already have a lot of Daimler in DE productions though often with some weird irregularities. Worth one of our German speakers consulting their reference sources to see what versions were sold in what years IMO. Not a Sovereign, they had chrome window trim. My hunch was one of the runout XJ6 models, but I found this car from a hire company in Cologne which looks like a match for the gold pinstripe, colour and general trim: https://www.filmauto.de/filmauto/fahrzeug/jaguar/Jaguar_166 /vehicle_1251626-Jaguar-XJ12-XJ81-1994.html 1994 XJ12. johnfromstaffs  | Mine was a 1969 Capri 1600XL, in red, those faux grilles and the wheel trims are an exact match, the clincher would be a view of the dashboard, the GT had extra clocks. The second Capri I had was a 1974 Daytona Yellow Mk 1 facelift, but whereas the first one cost me Ł625 at less than a year old, the second one was Ł70 and well worn. (I had got married in the interim, and we had our daughter by the time I bought the Yellow Peril.) It went and I bought my Cortina Mk V estate JVT 586V, dark blue with light blue trim, 2.0 GL, a nice car. -- Last edit: 2020-03-18 22:49:35 |

| dsl | If original, has unusual mix of details. Black rear panel was normally GT only as part of the R pack, but GT almost always had rostyles, black grille and fogs. Vinyl roof was 70+ option, chrome window trim and wheel rings was usually XL, which at this stage meant X and L option packs rather than a definite model.
