AnimatronixX ![]() | Yes, I briefly met him once and we talked for a few minutes, but it was enough to get an idea of his personality. When I was asked to take care of the cars from his collection, I had no idea who he was, as motorsport is far from my personal fields of interest. That's why I started researching him and his merits and wrote a German article about Stasys Brundza, which was also used to promote his vehicles on the German/ European market. This is how I found out about the Lada VFTS and all his other projects and it was a good way to 'get into the groove' before I went on and interviewed his cars, one by one. I meanwhile checked my archives and found out what I already assumed: The auction catalogue with all VINs and further details (including all the cars that I didn't get to work with) must have been in the bag with my old notebook, that unfortunately got lost - so no more technical details and VIN-checks for these from here, as only some pictures have survived... Sorry to have raised more expectations than I could fulfill! -- Last edit: 2022-11-07 21:38:16 |

s13a ![]() | Thanks for the information and the pictures. So you've met him as well? That's very nice Besides his impressive collection, he is also a household name in the Soviet Rallying scene - possibly the most successful Soviet rally driver who was also the founder of Lada VFTS. |

AnimatronixX ![]() | The collection was very well taken care of in terms of accuracy. I don't have access to the catalogue right now to check the VIN, but if Mr. Brundza described it as 1986 in the exhibition, it is one. | 2022-11-06 18:18
Baube ![]() | some GM cars did have them ( mostly as an option, can't tell for the limousine ) for 1985 before it became federally mandated for 1986 Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" AnimatronixX , did you changed it because it really was a 1986 or because of the CHMSL ? -- Last edit: 2022-11-06 18:08:31 |

AnimatronixX ![]() | By my own standards in my personal collection, I would list the one above as Contrac Cobus 300 and later ones just as Cobus 3000 (or whatever model is referred to). Contrac frequently used the company name, which is why it feels right to me treating them as the manufacturer of the older Cobus models. Apparently it's how we already list them: Contrac vs. Cobus. |

AnimatronixX ![]() | This *may* be another one from the Stasys Brundza collection, but that's more of an educated guess, as we had an exact twin of this Lincoln, MY 1979, back when all the Brundza vehicles were around. I assume it wasn't auctioned, but just sold directly, which is why it never appeared in my folders. | 2022-11-06 17:16
AnimatronixX ![]() | I think it's the one from the Stasys Brundza collection.![]() |

AnimatronixX ![]() | You're welcome! Here's an encore, including the panel with the power buttons. Now that I see it again seven years later, I seem to recall it just didn't work and I refrained from trying any longer in order to avoid the rear window to slide down, but never come back... ![]() ![]() |

AnimatronixX ![]() | Your gut feeling is right! Here's the only picture I have, next to a super-rare 1951 Cadillac Fleetwood Series Seventy-Five Formal Sedan with oval rear window, coachbuilt by the Derham Body Co. of Rosemont, Pennsylvania. -- Last edit: 2022-11-06 18:02:56 |

AnimatronixX ![]() | @s13a: My pleasure! Yes, that was a huge and unusual collection, and Mr. Brundza - a really nice and humble man - obviously had a soft-spot for the Cadillac Fleetwood Series Seventy-Five. I believe he owned the largest collection of Series Seventy-Five sedans and limousines in Europe at that time. The aucitoned cars went everywhere, but a whole lot of them was transferred to Germany and it was my job to promote them, write and/ or translate the advertising texts, compile historical data and equipment lists, take pictures (in some cases), which is why I only know some of the cars from this collection, with my favourites being a 1965 Lincoln Continental Executive Limousine by Lehmann-Peterson, the Lincoln Continental Mark V and a super-rare 1958 Fleetwood Series Seventy-Five Formal Sedan by the Derham Body Co. of Rosemont, Pennsylvania, that already made its deserved appearance on IMCDb. Once my job was done, I lost track of most individual developments, but I know for a fact that the Continental Mark V and the Derham are now part of a private collection in Lower Saxony and thus definitely in safe hands! I may have more detailed info and documents, but only limited access to them at this point, so my appropriate contributions are more of a work in progress. Here's the '72 Fleetwood Eldorado: ![]() |

dhill_cb7 ![]() | ^^please enlighten us as to why specifically 1986? I have heavily researched these, bought brochures, dealer sales pamphlets, and other material. I don’t see what makes this a 1986 here. However, I could easily have over looked a detail that would pinpoint such year. Thanks 🥳 | 2022-11-06 15:10

Exiv96 ![]() | I never know if we should use Contrac or Cobus as a brand for these. Contrac has morphed into Cobus Industries sometime in the 2010s, long after the 300 went out of production. But even in the 1990s the Contrac name only appeared on manufacturer plates, with "Cobus 300" labels elsewhere. I mean, it's like calling an early Smart Fortwo "Micro Compact Car Smart Fortwo" because the official company name was Micro Compact Car AG... | 2022-11-06 10:47
