The overriders weren't US-specific, they are available as an extra at the Audi-dealer. They weren't just not very popular. This car shown here is a basic version because of the lack of side chrome-trims. Is therefore likely to be 1968/9 - 1971. The colour looks like Bleu Platine, which would make it a '70/'71.
