dhill_cb7 ![]() | Looks like an Eddie Bauer top but I can't be certain as the tire cover is gone. Has the XLT/Eddie Bauer tail gate though. | 2020-04-27 20:59

Ray B. ![]() | Not a 1958. 1959 from the grille and side trim. | 2007-07-18 11:30
Sunbar ![]() | Yes it's almost the same. The short window after the cab area and the fuel filler position under the next large window confirms it. Good find Bedford J5 bus is correct. | 2007-05-01 23:04
Gag Halfrunt ![]() | There's a Bedford J5 bus with a very similar body in Lord of War, also filmed in South Africa: /vehicle_16452-Bedford-J5.html The Lord of War bus hasn't got the black stripes running down the sides of the driver's door, which look as if they're meant to make it look like a passenger door reaching down to the bottom of the bus. |

antp ![]() | You can post pictures in your comments by using www.imageshack.us : select the picture, and once it is sent you have to copy the link called "thumbnail for forums (1)" and past it here in your message. | 2007-05-01 22:32
Sunbar ![]() | It would have to be Bedford J5 with that front end. Bonnet shut line matches J5 as does general shape front wheel design and turn indicator. If the filming location in this scene is Cape Town then Bedford based bus is possible. Could it be based on a military bus or do South Africa have the US type of school bus perhaps? |

jjlewis ![]() | That is definitely the shot of my car. I am still trying to figure out how to post some pictures. That was one I was going to post, so I do not need to do so now. Thanks. |

Gag Halfrunt ![]() | The IMDB has a link to the film's official website, which is part-broken but does have photos. This shot of the Thunderbird in front of the San Francisco skyline must show JohnL's car: http://www.visionboxpictures.com/whatboyslike/stills/pages/wbl_35.html |

jjlewis ![]() | That's My Car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least some times it is. It is a 1959 Ford Thunderbird convertible. The production company contacted me after filming much of the movie in South Africa. They used a silver 1959 convertible with red and white interior. They needed one similar for shooting in San Francisco (where I live) and also in Southern California. They contacted the T-Bird club inquiring about a similar car, and contacted me. My car was white (and soon in need of a paint job), but otherwise fit the bill. They paid for a film to be sprayed over the white body of my car, then sprayed it silver. When they were finsihed, the paint shop simply peeled off the film and with it, the silver color. They paid me enough for the new paint job, which you will see in the picture I will try to add to this post later. Pretty cool site to find. The movie is "B" all the way. It has considerable nudity, so unfortunately I can't show it to my kids. It is available cheap on EBay. JohnL San Francisco |
