DidierF ![]() | Well… like in many other cases, this one was said "HY", while I can't see why it is not labelled "H". Anyway, if "HY", then 1959+. |

Ingo ![]() | The movie-truck looks like based on a Ford Transit MK I. Its hubcaps are from an early Citroen CX. -- Last edit: 2008-01-19 21:43:15 |

Alexander ![]() | Danke, Ingo, aber es war mir klar, was Mike meinte. Es ging nur um den richtigen Fachausdruck. -- I checked for matching words and there are several existing: gravel guard gravel protection gravel shield (US) stone deflector stone shield (US) stoneguard Two more phrases: fender cover (US) wing protector But I think these refer to the rubber mats placed over the wing when mechanics work on the engine. |

chris40 ![]() | Wahrscheinlich, aber bei uns versteht man "Kotflügelschutzecken" gar nicht ... -- Last edit: 2008-01-19 16:10:11 |

Ingo ![]() | "Kotflügelschutzecken" hieß es bei VW laut dem 1970er Zubehör-Katalog. | 2008-01-19 12:31
Ingo ![]() | @Alexander: Dynamike meint Steinschlagecken, die Chromschalen am Radlauf. | 2008-01-19 12:30
chris40 ![]() | I'm pretty sure it was stoneguard when I bought a pair for my VW 1300. BTW aren't those pretty plates fake? Surely 'I' isn't allowed on French plates? | 2008-01-19 11:49
DynaMike ![]() | OK, great to learn more about these 'aerodynamic' Renaults. | 2008-01-18 21:22

sixcyl ![]() | And with rubber bumpers , an Elysée or a Montlhéry | 2008-01-18 19:54
sixcyl ![]() | Dear Mike, Pilou is right about this type of wheels which belong to the 1937 type (12 holes type), but normaly their colour should be light cream and not dark as the colour of the body. The Celtastandard (eco version of the Celta4) has dark wheels but still artillery type. The trunk on Celtaquatre or Primaquatre was optional since 1937 .Therefore we can't conclude on that particular point. The indicators light on the C-pillar are aftermarket devices, maybe even postwar. Well, I'd rather go for a Celtaquatre 1937 as the wheels match to it |
2008-01-18 19:50 | ||
DynaMike ![]() | I agree, looks like a post-war 170 S [W136], 1949+. | 2008-01-18 18:04
Ingo ![]() | 170 | 2008-01-18 17:43
Alexander ![]() | I don't know either. But it was no question what you meant. | 2008-01-18 13:13
DynaMike ![]() | As I said I'm really not a connoisseur in this area, but I think that the 1937 models had their spare wheel already inside (in a drawer behind the small spare-wheel-boot-lid) or in a 'real' trunk. About the wheels I'm not sure, it's quite dark. Cf 1936: http://home.wanadoo.nl/celta/pagina/adc1.htm Cf 1937: http://home.wanadoo.nl/celta/pagina/adc2.htm (also scroll down) |
2008-01-18 13:00 | ||
DynaMike ![]() | I just hope stone guard is the right word for the shiny deco piece just in front of the rar wheel arch (sabot d'aile, spatbordsierstuk)... | 2008-01-18 12:51
pilou ![]() | As judged by the front bumper , this is not a Delahaye.Period Delahayes had two piece veed front bumpers that did not join in their center.This one piece veed bumper with 2 ribs in it, joining on a small central vertical bar and with the small lateral knob is Salmson S4 D 1936 or 1937 , not many other details here. | 2008-01-18 12:39
pilou ![]() | The wheels of this one are not 1936 .1936 Renaults had spiked artillery type wheels.This one has the new 12 hole wheel rims introduced on the 1937 models.I go for a 1937 Renault Celtaquatre | 2008-01-18 12:18
pilou ![]() | Postwar french Ford F 598 T | 2008-01-18 12:01

2491tj ![]() | plus a postwar French Army field kitchen | 2008-01-18 02:18
Alexander ![]() | It seems you know a thing or two about these cars, DynaMike ... ![]() Even I haven't identified a car by it's stone guard! A very nice car, indeed! Thanks for posting, Francis! |
2008-01-18 02:17 | ||
DynaMike ![]() | Looks like a French Ford. | 2008-01-18 00:02
DynaMike ![]() | Opel Blitz. | 2008-01-18 00:01
DynaMike ![]() | The FFI 'Traction' is a 1951 15 Six D. I'd say it needs its own page. | 2008-01-18 00:00
DynaMike ![]() | The black 'Traction' with yellow wheels is a pre-war 11 BL. The 'Pilote' wheels came in january 1938, but maybe this yellow was only used since 1939 (not sure yet). | 2008-01-17 23:57
DynaMike ![]() | That's a circa 1936 Delahaye. | 2008-01-17 23:39
DynaMike ![]() | The straight side trim indicates a 1961+ version. | 2008-01-17 23:30
DynaMike ![]() | This is a late 30s Renault. I always get confused by the multitude of names and versions, but I'd say this is a 1936 Celtaquatre [ADC1]. Needs confimation, au secours Sixcyl! | 2008-01-17 23:26
DynaMike ![]() | Btw the rear stone guards are a Robri accessory. | 2008-01-17 23:14
DynaMike ![]() | Isn't it marvellous And what a pity you cannot hear the noise of the engine... It's a Dyna 58 (new vent windows in the front doors with no full chrome trim, since march 1958) Grand Luxe (these vent windows, small rims on the headlights, only accessory stone gruard deco on the rear wheel arches) [Z12]. The central foglight (of which the glass is missing) is not original (only on Grand Standing), and also the upholstery and the yellow colour are not original. But the colour suits the car very well ![]() |
