Ocasel557 BRThis is a CBT (Brazilian Tractor Company), what is a 1950-60s Oliver based models. 2020-03-26 21:02

Propliner USYou are sort of correct, it is a actually a Model C Tournadozer with maybe a crane or a Tournarooter/Tree Stinger attachment on the front. The Tree Stinger was first called the Tournarooter, but then the name was changed. I am just guessing about the front contraption, but I know it has to be a Model C. 2010-05-04 04:12
Propliner USI think this is a 1963 LeTourneau Model C-3 Billy Goat. I haven't seen any other pictures of it, but from the description in the book LeTourneau Earthmovers By Eric C. Orlemann, I think this is it. It reads, "Equipped with either a dozing rooter blade or a bush-hog, the Model C-3 Billy Goat was a three-wheeled, five-tired tractor released in June 1964." To my knowledge, there is no other LeTourneau piece of equipment that fits this picture. 2010-05-04 04:01
Propliner USAnother LeTourneau piece of equipment, this one is a wheel-dozer. 2010-04-26 00:06
Propliner USDefinitely a LeTourneau piece of equipment. All I know is that we are looking at the back, and it is probably a wheel-dozer or some sort of crane.

Propliner USFrom the book: R. G. LeTourneau Heavy Equipment: The Electric Drive Era 1953-1970, this is either a Double-C(Model C-10), a Series L-50(Model C-8), a Series L-60(Model C-8), a Series L-130(Model A-8), or a Series L-140(Model A-8). All of these scrapers had a tandem-axle tractor or lead scraper(shown in the picture), and a single-axle trailer(you can see the hitch on the rear of the scraper)with the exception of the Double C, which had a tandem-axle scraper trailer. I would guess it is either the second or third I mentioned. The L-50 became the L-60, and the L-130 became the L-140. These are the only scraper models in the book to have a tandem-axle tractor and a front mounted cab. I know that LeTourneau was building "Lournavista" in Peru and "Tournata" in Liberia, but I don't know of any LeTourneau based projects going on in the Amazon at the time. 2010-04-25 23:57
Propliner USYou are correct, it is a Letourneau Model 3523 LeTro-Crusher, first introduced in 1970, but I don't know what year this one is. 2010-04-25 23:10

Weasel1984 PLTo what year trucks of this type were made? It could be rebadged in the early 1980's like all Fiats, Unics, Magiruses etc. The other possibility is that the old military truck has been rebuilt, "refreshed" by its producer (now Iveco) for this expedition and also rebadged. Fiat in those times did a lot of things to make this new brand (Iveco) common.

It appears to be a distinct possibility. The only thing making me doubt it is the grille.
