eXAKR  | Also known locally as the MAN A22, with an MAN Lion's City Hybrid look-alike body built by Gemilang of Malaysia. Looks like one of the earlier batches given it's in the old SMRT red/cream-white livery, but hard to tell otherwise as most of the differences between earlier and later batches are in the interior - newer units came painted in SMRT's newer silver "pixels" livery, while the very latest units are painted lime green in the common Bus Contracting Model livery. New to SMRT in 2012, some units have now been transferred to/are new to operator Tower Transit after they took over a package of bus routes in the western part of Singapore in 2016. All Berlin 5 Series were bought in a badge, having the same engine. Those cars became famous after series of serious accidents. Berlin goverment decided to give them Tourans after that. Why? | ingo | As this movie was filmed besides Singapore in Germany (nothing said about Russia - this car has a Russian-looking plate), it's the question, if this Lada es sold at first in the DDR or in West Germany, to identify clearly the original model-name. I'd go for DDR, as the 1500/1600 was not too common in the West (more 1200/1300 and Nova), especially not in plain colours as white or grey. |
