chicomarx ![]() | I couldn't find details on the Consul Corsair in particular, but export was always Antwerp's reason for existence. "Proximity to the Antwerp harbour gave Ford an excellent infrastructure and ready market outlets (the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Switzerland)" -Ford, 1903-2003: The European History (Hubert Bonin, Yannick Lung, Steven Tolliday) |

dsl ![]() | Belgian plate, so Belgian built At this stage, I'll assume Belgian build was limited to 63-65 Consul Corsair, and did not continue into 65+ Corsair V4, but more info welcome. Also anything on whether Antwerp builds were sold outside Belgium - we have reasonable numbers of Consul Corsairs in France, Italy, and across Scandinavia. |

zodiac ![]() | How do one know this is a 250 SE and not a 250 S or a 300 SE? All [W 108]. | 2016-10-06 09:36
zodiac ![]() | After having seen how many Mercedes there are in this film, it seems not unlikely there have been some on loan from either the agent or a local dealer. If the one in ingo's link is the same as the one above, it's likely to be a 250 SE. That is because of the hup caps and chromed wheel embellishers (14" rims compare with 13" on the 220 SE). |

chicomarx ![]() | If that is 9776F - this is exciting - the plate is still active. "La plaque est bien attribuée à un véhicule depuis le 01-03-1968" and the make is Ford. |

dsl ![]() | Belgian Cortinas did not start until 1977 with the Mk4 launch (which was the first Taunus clone to the TC2), so Genk just made whatever was wanted for wherever. However NL assembled Cortinas from 1967 to 1975 (ie the Mk2 and Mk3 period) but Dagenham was the only Mk1 production site in Europe - Cork's first Cortina was the Mk2, ditto Malta (I think). Aus and Rhodesia did Mk1s, probably also NZ and ZA. | 2016-10-04 00:47

zodiac ![]() | Yes, no chrimed side strip should exclude the W 112, so I agree with W 111. Date of filming and chromed insde rear view mirror makes me thinking of a 220 SE rather than a 250 SE. Also likelihood speaks for 220 SE (not many 250 SE made at the time filming, unless it's a promotion car). Any chanse of seeing the hub cap? |
