Classic car magazines like Old Timer and Nostalgic Hero treat the Okinawa-spec cars as though they were exactly the same as their mainland counterparts but with LHD, but they never specify on whether they have any commonality with their SEA-spec/EU-spec counterparts |

I assume it would have been less costly/labor intensive for Japanese car makers to send export-oriented lhd models to Okinawa without having to produce cars specifically for Okinawa with left hand drive and domestic marketing. Most of the Japanese cars here could be found in many lhd South-East Asian countries as well, that is unless Japanese cars in SE Asian countries were marketed the same as in Japan ? -- Last edit: 2022-04-18 12:56:19 |
