jpts AUThis scene was the reenactment of the murder of Siam "Sammy the Turk" Ozerkam who was shot by Chopper Read in the carpark outside the Bojangles Nightclub at St. Kilda, Victoria in the early hours of the 12th June 1987.

Ozerkam was a low-level drug dealer who came over to Melbourne from Turkey as a young man and was an associate of armed robbers, Graeme Jensen and Frank Valastro who were later both killed in a number of separate police related shootings.

Read was originally charged for Ozerkam's murder but was the charge was dismissed as it was ruled that Read shot Ozerkam in self defense.

an_unusual_eye USfrom what i can determine after a bit of research ~ and admittedly i'm a little out of my element with the australian models ~ there would be a couple notable differences. the australian 260z cars throughout the duration of the production run wore bumpers that very much resembled the bumpers that the S30 Z cars wore in the U.S. from the beginning of the 1970 model year through the 1972 model year of the 240z - minus the bumper guards. for the first half of the 1974 model year in the U.S., the 260z was equipped with bumpers that were somewhat larger than those on the australian model, and with black rubberized bumper guards, but still fairly similar in appearance. for the 2nd half of the 1974 model year in the U.S., the 260z would have been sold with the much larger "federalized" bumpers, and would have therefore appeared significantly more different. additionally, the U.S. version had side marker lights on both the front and the rear corners, while the australian version (perhaps) only had the front side markers. after 1974 the U.S. got 280z models only, while australia continued to receive 260z models through 1978. all that being said... the only real variation during the 260z run in australia that i can come up with as it applies to this car, is that these 4 spoke alloy wheels didn't begin to show up on the market until around mid-1976. presuming that they're original to the car, i guess that we should make this one a 1976 model. the color is code #301 (Light Brown Metallic). 2010-08-27 06:33

valiant1962 AUThe Cobra was released as a way of disposing of the last 400 XC coupe body shells when the XD was due to be released. They painted them white with blue stripes and Globe alloy wheels, with black interior trim and special black and blue cloth inserts for the seats. They were only available as a V8, with a choice of 4.9 litre (302ci) or 5.8 litre (351ci) Cleveland engines, and console shift auto or manual transmissions. They were individually numbered and the first 30 were further modified for racing, and are now known as Bathurst Cobras. The XC Cobra is one of the most sought after models of Australian muscle cars. 2010-03-13 00:04
