Weasel1984 ![]() | In fact with reg. plate placed this way for 99,9% not TL. | 2019-03-21 19:20
AnimatronixX ![]() | Welcome to another episode of IMCDb's funfair of coachbuilding rarities, hosted again by yours truly! This is one of three Checker ambulances that were built in 1966 by coachbuilder De Georgi from Switzerland for a hospital in Zurich. It appears like we have the exclusive broadcasting rights for the rear view of these conversions. Hello Checker fans worldwide - you saw it first on our site! ![]() Update: It's Carrosserie De Giorgi of Bern, Switzerland, and this model was called the "Einheits-Ambulanz". -- Last edit: 2019-08-29 21:33:48 |

electra225 ![]() | I wrote 1969 since I was thinking about a Sunbeam Hunter and this looked to me more a Mk II for some reasons. I understand it was a bit arbitrary. is maybe 1967 better ? | 2014-09-29 07:04
rpcm ![]() | Visible details can identify a 1600 Spider or an early 1750 Spider Veloce, but since it doesn't seem to have a door mirror, it's probably on the wing hidden by the Fiat's C-pillar. The car also seems to sit high and that would be a consequence of 15" wheels. So I think the safer option is the 1966+ Spider 1600 usually known as Duetto. -- Last edit: 2014-09-29 03:19:50 |
2014-09-29 03:13 | ||
rpcm ![]() | Although exterior rear view mirrors are on the wings, it's not their usual factory location. Nevertheless, the steering wheel semms to have the older horn ring, so the safer option is a 1960+ 220 S/SE. | 2014-09-29 03:02
andrepa ![]() | it might be a 1963 Checker Marathon "Krankenwagen" https://www.flickr.com/photos/55469295@N08/5139366084 well, it is obviouselly one of the Sanitätscorps Zürich 1963 - 1981 http://www.favcars.com/photos-checker-marathon-ambulance-1963-81-86533 did you know 1962 was Checkers best year, when they sold 3000 cars that is 2/3 of daily production in Wolfsburg 2012 -- Last edit: 2014-09-29 00:37:01 |

dsl ![]() | Might be Super - looks shiny in right places. | 2014-09-28 21:36
dsl ![]() | Intrigued why it's been dated as 1969, but as explained in a moment I agree exactly. On definite detail of thick side trim and wheel trim rings it is a 1967 (Singer) Vogue or 1971 (Hillman) Hunter GL - which were the same cars/trim, just different names. The only difference in this view is the door badge - 67-68 Vogue and 71+ Hunter used same big script style but 69-70 Vogue had thicker more compact font as Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" and I think here. |

zodiac ![]() | It's a 1968-72 280 S or SE W 108 without doubt https://www.flickr.com/photos/39302751@N06/6008500165/ . The radiator grill has four lines (instead of seven) between each chrome strip and the wheels has hubcaps covering the whole wheel. (excludes 1965-67 250/300 models) Link to "www.classicandperformancecar.com" The appearance is rather low and wide rather than compact (excludes the W 114/W 115) Link to "www.flickr.com" (please note that the extra bumper is beneath rather than above the normal, also different head lamps) . Not high either (excludes W 110/ W 111) Link to "sv.wikipedia.org" . Finally it doesn't have chrome around the side windows (excludes W 109) http://kahndesign.com/news/news_detail.php?i=399&css=2 . -- Last edit: 2014-09-28 20:50:30 |
