ingo DEIf you see the pics in the otheer forum, especially that from the 23rd June, it seems really like that.

Anyways, this was very common, that trcuk- and bus-makers have used serial standard lamps of the usual companies. On quite known example are the Setra-buses with the taillights from the NSU 1200. Or the oval haedlights of the Mercedes [LP63]-trucks. Thei are the same, as for the Ford 17M [P3] and the NSU 1000.
The rectangular headlights, the Mercedes T2 has, were used even more. Also for the Mercedes LP, the Glas V8 and the trams in Dortmund.

I dont know but Vest used same headlights on all buses of that periode, guess they bougth them from Lucas, Bosch or another maker. If you look further down in my link above you will see a closer photo of those lamps on a Scania from Vest.

Bø-Viks NOI was wrong all the time this is a Ford R226 from 1972 with a Vest body.
its reg nr is UX13061. In 1985 it was owned by Morten (Diesel) Dahl in Trondheim, he is a norwegian heavy metal rocker from bands like TNT, the bus was used as a bandbus.

Commander 57 USHmmm...
You're quite right!
Looked at the '67 brochures and the '67 Rebel was indeed still a Rambler.
That slightly changes my model list above.
1967 = Rambler American, Rambler Rebel, AMC Marlin and AMC Ambassador.

You're also right about the year on the Ambassador.
Changing.

Excellent job, Johnny.
I love it when blows are struck for accuracy!

Bø-Viks NOYes but Ford buses of that size are rare in Norway so I think somebody have "upgraded" their bus to a Ford. And if you look at the photos in this serie http://www.flickr.com/photos/36081480@N08/4444546637/in/photostream/ I guess you agree that it could be a Vest.( Den er litt spesiell, jeg tror den er laget som en kombibuss slik den fremstår i filmen, fronten ser ut som en turist/langdistanse buss uten skiltkasse, men det er ingen lasteluker under bussen. det må være mulig å finne ut av dette)

Commander 57 USOK, I've done some research to refresh my memory, since the topic interests me.
The Rambler/AMC story is interesting.
While the Rambler name appeared over 90 years ago, the modern version as we think of it began in model year 1950, when Nash Motors introduced the compact Rambler as a model of Nash. From 1950 through 1954, they are correctly called "Nash Ramblers".
In that year, Nash and Hudson merged to form "American Motors". At that point, begining in model year 1955, Ramblers were sold as both "Nash Ramblers" and "Hudson Ramblers", the only differences being in the nameplates. This continued for 1956.
In 1957, Hudson and Nash names were removed from Ramblers and they became a separate make. So for 1957 only, American Motors built 3 different lines of cars: Nashes, Hudsons and Ramblers.
For 1958, Nash and Hudson were discontinued altogether and all American Motors cars were "Ramblers".
Gradually over time, more models were added to Rambler, and by 1965, there was the Rambler American, the Rambler Classic, the Rambler Marlin and the Rambler Ambassador.
Now things really get interesting during the transtion period of 1966 to 1968.
For 1966, American Motors separated the Ambassador and the Marlin from the Rambler name and those models were listed separately in the NADA guides. My April 1966 edition lists Rambler American and Rambler Classic under the Rambler section as in 1965.
However, the Ambassador and Marlins are listed by themselves as "Ambassador (A.M.C.)" and "Marlin (A.M.C.)".
For 1967, the "Classic" model was dropped and replaced by the "Rebel", which was also separated from Rambler.
In the April 1968 edition, there is a parenthetical note in the "American Motors" section stating "The automobiles manufactured by the American Motors Corporation are listed in this manner at the request of American Motors" (that is as American Motors, or "AMC"). I therefore regard all American Motors cars built from 1968 on as "AMC"'s.

To recap:
1965 = Rambler American, Rambler Classic, Rambler Marlin and Rambler Ambassador
1966 = Rambler American, Rambler Classic, AMC Marlin and AMC Ambassador
1967 = Rambler American, AMC Rebel, AMC Marlin and AMC Ambassador
1968 = AMC Rambler American, AMC Rebel, AMC Ambassador, AMC Javelin and AMC AMX.

For 1969, the "American" name was dropped and for this last year of the Rambler, it was simply called "AMC Rambler".

Forgive the length of this post but I felt this should be clarified for anyone interested.
