In 1992 Bmw switched to the E36 2 door coupe, and in 1993 to the 4 door model. Privateer drivers often bought works cars in the end of the season, to race in the Privateers cup, the next season. |

dsl ![]() | 569 FMO is significant as Austin Mini Cooper (997cc), registered Nov 63 and used by Rauno Aaltonen on 1964 Monte with #105 (as liveried here), finished 7th. 3 works 997 Coopers were entered in Group 3 alongside 3 works Cooper S 1071s (one of which won) in Group 2. As a result 569 FMO is often - wrongly - described as a Cooper S, probably because it now has a 1071 engine (DVLA below). Only used on 64 Monte, after which all works Minis were Cooper S 1275. Current DVLA details for 569 FMO are: Date of Liability 01 01 2012 Date of First Registration 31 12 1963 Year of Manufacture 1963 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1071CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour RED. -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 22:25:54 |

dsl ![]() | From "Ford Escort Mk1" book by Graham Robson who usually knows his stuff. Escorts FEV 5H, 6H, 7H and 8H were all officially Twin Cams and used as Twin Cams. However 5H and 8H were fitted with RS 1600 engines for individual events, after which they reverted to Twin Cams. FEV 5H won the 1970 1000 Lakes rally as a Twin Cam driven by Mikkola/Palm and the 1970 Circuit of Ireland as an RS 1600 driven by Clark/Porter. [I'm beginning to wish I'd never started this now - is anyone still awake???]. Summary - call this a Twin Cam and not an RS. -- Last edit: 2012-05-24 13:58:07 |

dsl ![]() | In the UK, Corgi have started a series of 1:43 diecast models in the Vanguards "Colin Macrae Motorsports" range, with eventually 14 models issued by the end of 2011, including many of the pictured cars.
