rtsbusman1997 wrote 1991+, Made for EU

In Europe some countries list these as 1990. They went on sale in September of 1990 in Europe and they do not use the model years like we do here in the states. However, that being said. I have yet to find an official 1990 with a VIN.

I know Sandie or dsl ran a Europe Previa with details coming back for 1990. However, that does not mean it is indeed officially a 1990. We would need the VIN to confirm but for the time being I am reverting to 1990 until we have concrete or official proof (a brochure or a VIN will suffice). The earliest brochure I can drum up is for 1991 so that begs the question as to whether these were 1991 models sold and built in 1990

Maybe some one else can drum up some details on this. I have been changing my search settings in google to search in Europe and the UK and it does say 1990 but like I mentioned above I have yet to find official documents saying there was a 1990 model year.

AnimatronixX DE^ Link is dead now, but Rappold built a few of these. Special features here are the prestigious W116-update and the reversed air intake moldings at the B-pillar (taken from the Mercedes-Benz warehouse). 2019-02-23 00:13

Late response, but those are definitely the bigger bumpers from 1985 on, so Polo Classic.

Purzel89 DEBy the bigger air outtake near the rear its a second generation. I have information that KVB (Cologne bus company) used model years ranging from 1991 to 1993. So 1994 is not possible.

How do you know its 1994 model year?

AlexTBV DEThis back view with the white painting seems exactly like an old fire engine from my homebase Leichlingen, which is located in the environment of Cologne, where the series plays. The Leichlingen fire service had a Magirus Mercur, built in 1956, which is out-of-service. Maybe they used it for this scene.

Unfortunately I only found the front view picture:

mike962 DEhere another strong possiblilty and may be solved

this could be a KRAMER, color matches, bar matches , rear wheel match , front grill seems to match with the 3 chrome stripes !!!
