1979 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Four-Door Sedan [1N69] Liv & død (1980)	leoz	It's surprising how many older cars (in the western world at least), can sit for many years stored & hidden in garages, barns and private collections. If they're not being driven, the owners tend not to bother updating the tax or insurance details, etc. A lot of website services (such as DVLA in UK) can be unreliable sometimes. There's a possibility this car - and others may be bought and traded for parts-cars, or which might be an unfinished restoration project "on hold", under wraps at the bottom of someone's garden! However, this is definitely optimistic-thinking. Remember that, in this past decade, scrap metal prices have risen higher than they ever have been before - at least here in the UK and especially in the USA. A lot of potential resto-projects and parts supplies were crushed for cash. Many full scrap yards have been cleared-out (due also to environmental issues and property prices). The older and bigger the car... So if this car has met the crusher already, it wouldn't suprise me. :sad: Then again, I haven't looked-up the " " plate on Google, which I sometimes do. Please compare 1978 http://www.volvo200.org/modellen/model78.htm with 1979 http://www.volvo200.org/modellen/model79.htm It's rather interesting how manufacturers introduce suffixes where it after a while goes inflationed. Opel introduced the L for Luxus, which was followed by BMW in the late 60's. Volvo had to keep up and introduced in 1971 the 'de luxe', originally introduced by Ford in the 50's. Later 'Grand lux' followed, originally intended as a to-of-the-line model. When the L (for Lux) disappeared in 1979, everything else moved up a step, and in 1992 the DL disappeared as well.	2014-12-09 13:01
