It can't be a 2011 model. The first generation CLS (W219) were only 2005-2010 models. The second generation (W218) started with the 2011 model year, so this has to be a W219 and the grille style narrows it down to a 2008-2010 model.

Looks like 2011 was a carryover year:

IzzysAlfa USNo way this car would have been able to run after what happened to it. In an earlier scene, it without a doubt completely exploded lol. 2020-04-16 22:19
IzzysAlfa USGorgeous CLS. Introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model, which would be produced up until 2010 before it was replaced with the W218, which was also then replaced by the current C257 that has been in production since 2018. Thomas's father's car in this film is a first generation W219, which was assembled in Sindelfingen, Germany. While the car does get some decent on-screen time throughout the film, I don't think there are any shots detailed enough to narrow down one of the many trim levels this car came available in. This particular model is also unique in that it happens to be the first car introduced by any automaker globally as a 4-door coupe (the Volkswagen CC would follow very soon after).

Here is a tour of a 2009 model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45RrXXII6DY

2010 only since it lacks the GM badge and has those wheels.

Yes sir. You are correct. DX would have black handles and EX would have alloys with larger 5 spokes for 2006-2008.

CougarTim USIt's a Toyota Camry coupe from the pre-Solara days. The speakers on the parcel shelf are the right shape.

There's no CHMSL between the speakers so it probably originally had a spoiler like /vehicle_19373-Toyota-Camry-Coupe-XV10-1994.html

leo ITYes, that's true, the W123 on the main pic looks very good and in a nice colour, maybe the other one was a wreck, even if I don't know if they would care about the shape of the cars they destroy if they are only old and relatively cheap...xD 2012-11-07 17:29
antp BEThat's good then: for that they may have used an already-wrecked one, rather than the W123 in good shape 2012-11-07 17:21
