daimlere20 WLLooks to be a 2 1/2 litre Empress. The windscreen surround being devoid of a chrome finisher tells us that it is not a Consort. These smaller cars did not usually have a division, but as a coachbuilt car, the owner could within reason specify their particular needs. 2017-07-24 02:54

DidierF FRYep. Le Panthéon is in the background.

The opening credits begin with a panoramic shot Île de la Cité en regardant rive droite, then there is this tracking shot rue Soufflot, then an other tracking shot on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, and finally a panoramic in front of the main entrance of the Jardins du Luxembourg —here: /vehicle_789452-Somua-OP5-2-1950.html .

The main other notable out-door filming is Place des Victoires, some stuff is probaby shot in the 16th Arrondissement, but I don't know what is the mansion for the final scene. An embassy, probably.

DidierF FRWise choice, DynaMike.

You know (no, you don't, but listen and you'll know) that after the Dyna, my father bought a (second hand) Chambord, in 1964. It was really necessary, 'cause the 6 kids were growing up fast. I'm delighted to learn that I was transported in a (second hand) up-market car (who died about 6 years later, bielle coulée).

DynaMike NLThat's a Heinkel Tourist 2015-02-22 23:44
DynaMike NLOnly way to know the difference is by seeing the side of the car. Is the lower half painted in the same colour as the upper half and the bonnet, then it's a Bealieu; is the lower half painted in the same colour as the roof, then it's a Chambord.
But since all cars on this parking are up-market I'd say it's a good guess taht this will be a Chambord :)

DidierF FRYou'll see it also here /vehicle_789575-Chevrolet-Corvair-1962.html and there /vehicle_789547-Simca-Vedette.html but I have nothing better. 2015-02-22 23:15

johnfromstaffs ENI looked at the picture from Majordome, and could not see any division. My reference does not mention limousine coachwork on the smaller chassis, but I suppose there may have been some built to customer order. 2015-02-22 22:09

Since the "two" Darts are supposedly belonging to two different characters, I'll keep them both.

And I'll open a page for the Corvair.

License or registry number plate, whatever the accurate name is?
