DynaMike NLI think tat the bigger dark area is just a shadow, due to the covering of the wheel. Otherwise one wouldn'y see the darker spot in the centre. The small hubcaps on the big wheels were plain.

sixcyl FRSorry Mike, but what about the rear wheel? it shows a big hupcap matching with ID's of 1959+ no? 2010-07-14 20:00
DynaMike NLThe 1952 version had smaller lights (parking lights and indicator repeaters) on the C-pillar, placed in line with the chromed belt line. This is a newer low-end version. By the combination of lacking side strips and stoneguards on the rear fenders, and overriders on the bumper it'll be a 1956 Frégate 2 litres [T1100] or a 1957 Caravelle [R1102] (only difference was the name, the front badge, the upholstery and the gear shift scheme). 2010-07-14 19:27
robi DEOrigin: UK? 2010-07-14 19:13
DynaMike NLBy the new interior design on the door (2nd thumbnail) it's a 1959 model.
2010-07-14 19:08
DynaMike NLMaybe it is because of my poor quality screen, but to me the bezels look painted and the hubcaps are only circa 2 cm wide; in the main pic one can just see the (very) small cap on the rear wheel, and it is clearly visible on the front wheel (so it is not removed or lost). These extremely small caps were used until May 1958 (at elast on the Confort.
The clock on the dashboard (visible in the 10th thumbnail) tells us that it is a Confort version.

DynaMike NL:D Nice and rare find. I'd say it was a strange idea by Ford France to make a utilty version of an expensive car with a not rather economical V8 engine...
Btw, it was listed as sedan, but the Abeille had a rear hatch and no rear seats, so maybe better to list it as a van (or hatchback?).

DynaMike wrote Listed as 1959, but I guess that is a typo ;)
The painted headlight bezels and the minimalist hubcaps make this a 1957 model.

A 1957 would have painted frame on the head lights, and the rear hub caps shows 1959 small hucaps, which have been removed (or lost?) on the front wheels, so up to me it's a 1959 model ;)
