Gag Halfrunt ![]() | Where filmed: the state of Georgia, USA. | 2022-10-15 15:20 | ||
dsl ![]() | Assuming all the info in my L-R bible is exactly correct with no loopholes/omissions, there are 3 plausible permutations on what's visible: - 97 only NAS - 98+ TD5, possibly 2001+ SE top export trim - 2008+ Fire And Ice edition on 2.4 TDCi (or similar later edition) Each of them have at least 2 anomalies which are difficult to explain, even if deliberately disguised for filming. The lack of a 2006+ bonnet bulge seems to draw a line against anything newer, the late non-NAS rear lights are difficult to absorb, and if someone wanted to disguise a NAS, fitting TD5 and later vented headlight surrounds shows an incredible dedication to nerdy detail which is barely visible under the other fixtures. So as seen I think TD5 with added macho SVX-like grille (and other dress-up bits) is easiest to explain, but doesn't resolve where filmed or how it got there. |

Gag Halfrunt ![]() | This is not really Italy. /vehicle_1544465-Fiat-500-312-2012.html Could it be a NAS dressed up to look like a TD5? That is the only possibility that would be road-legal in the US. |
2022-10-15 12:19 | ||
dsl ![]() | If it is a genuine NAS, it has the 97 final year only roll-cage/ladder and other upgrades. But the NAS was V8, this one has a newer grille (first seen on 2008 SVX edition), the small vents between the front sidelights which came with TD5, newer rear lights than 97. It doesn't have bonnet bulge of 2006+ 2.4 TDCi or 2011+ 2.2 TDCi, which rules out things like the 2008 Fire And Ice edition (for Europe, had the SVX grille and was sold in I). So I think it's a dressed up genuine TD5, possibly Italian, and not a US NAS. Maybe 2001+ SE spec (= XS in UK). |

RedBoy9199 ![]() | 1994-97 in the US. Might be the TD5 badge is fake. However if it was really filmed in Italy, it would be a 1999-2006 then. But two italian cars in the thumb has NA-spec side markers... -- Last edit: 2022-10-15 03:25:03 |

night cub ![]() | Guess I'm not the only one who caught this episode yesterday on the CW? The episode was the one calling it a Bizzarrini. Mac and Desi were sent to Italy to retrieve this "rare Italian sports car" to draw out the owner, but it's actually falling apart and run-down. But they magically restore the car to like-new in a matter of hours. The owner steals it to get away, but Mac devises a hook trick to stop the car without hurting it, similar to devices used on aircraft carriers. |

CougarTim ![]() | Pretty certain it's a modified Fiberfab, Avenger (rear-engine, GT12 (VW) or Corvair (GT15)) or Valkyrie (mid-engine V-8): Link to "rarecomponentcars.blogspot.com" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiberfab_Valkyrie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiberfab_Avenger_GT The lower front bumper openings are a perfect match, and the rounded cove beside the driver's window is distinctive. The side scoop has been deleted and the headlights adapted from quad to dual. The long rear overhang here is more consistent with Avenger. |
