dsl ![]() | OK - Lancia wins. | 2016-09-23 19:59
fortengo ![]() | Not a Triumph, I think... Note the straight bonnet and front fender lines: both are slighlty curved on the Spitfire, as is the upper windscreen frame; its windscreen is also lower and less upright than what we see here. I agree that the few discernible details – including a moulding on the A-pillar – match better with a Lancia Appia Vignale Convertible. | 2016-09-23 19:56
dsl ![]() | Compare /vehicle_432528-Triumph-Spitfire-4-1963.html . Spitfire did not have a scoop, so if this is a Spitfire, the "scoop" is a reflection. Screen shape, raised trim along wing tops, and raised moulding down bonnet centreline look good to me. But I could be mis-reading what I see within the reflections, so it is a real scoop and there is no raised trim along wing tops or raised moulding down bonnet centreline, so Lancia idea is also possible eg /vehicle_412026-Lancia-Appia-Convertibile-812-1959.html |

electra225 ![]() | Not sure about a Spitfire. I was thinking about a Lancia Appia cabriolet by Vignale, but what dsl proposed coild be as well. I don't remember the front hood air scoop on the Spitfire but I could be wrong. -- Last edit: 2016-09-23 11:04:54 |

supcoach ![]() | From Wikipedia - The Ford Mustang was brought out five months before the normal start of the 1965 production year. The early production versions are often referred to as "1964½ models" but all Mustangs were advertised, VIN coded and titled by Ford as 1965 models, though minor design updates for fall 1965 contribute to tracking 1964½ production data separately from 1965 data. ] Nevertheless, all "1964½" cars were given 1965 U.S. federal VIN numbers at the time of production, and - with limited exception to the earliest of promotional materials[19] - were marketed by Ford as 1965 models https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang_(first_generation) |
