jpts ![]() | This scene was a reenactment of the capture of Mesrine and his mistress and accomplice, Jeanne Schneider who were arrested in the US on the 16th July 1969. According to the investigators, after the failed kidnapping of their former boss, grocery and textile millionaire, Georges Deslauriers, on the 26th June 1969, both Mesrine and Schneider had fled Quebec and travelled to the US. After arriving in the US, Mesrine and Schneider met with an elderly lady named Evelyne Le Bouthillier who had gave them shelter. Four days later on the 30th June, Le Bouthillier was later found strangled to death at her home, police investigating her murder suspected that both Mesrine and Schneider were the ones who strangled her. Acting on a tip supplied by an accomplice of Mesrine and Schnieder, a few weeks later, on the 16th July, police had cornered Mesrine and Schnieder and were arrested. In reality, the capture of both Mesrine and Schnieder took place in Texarkana on the Arkansas side, not in Arizona before being extradited back to Quebec. Mesrine was convicted and sentenced to ten years imprisonment, but a few weeks later, Mesrine broke out only to be recaptured the following day. After being recaptured, Mesrine and Schneider were charged with Le Bouthillier's murder, but were acquitted due to a lack of evidence. |

jpts ![]() | This scene was the reenactment of the failed prison breakout and shootout between Mesrine, Mercier and armed guards that occurred at the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Penitentiary at Laval, Quebec on the morning of the 3rd September 1972. Mesrine and Jean-Paul Mercier had previously broke out of the prison on the morning of the 21st August 1972 as a result of the way they treated and had originally planned to return to the prison to break out the remaining prisoners, but when they arrived, Mesrine and Mercier saw the area outside of the prison with extra armed guards as a result of Mesrine and Mercier's own breakout, resulting in a shootout with the guards. The shootout resulted in two guards wounded as well as both Mesrine and Mercier wounded. -- Last edit: 2019-11-10 15:56:08 |

jpts ![]() | This scene was a reenactment of the murders of Rangers, Médéric Cote and Ernest Saint-Pierre who were shot by Mesrine and his partner; Jean-Paul Mercier during a routine stop in a forest near Plessisville in L'Érable Regional County Municipality of Quebec on the afternoon of 10th September 1972. According to the Royal Canadian Mountain Police, Mesrine and Mercier along with Mercier's girlfriend were heading back to their hideout after spending the afternoon doing some target practise when they were stopped by Cote and Saint-Pierre and ask to search Mesrine's car, during the rangers' search, they found guns in the car and told Mesrine and Mercier to follow them to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife station at Plessisville, while Mesrine was trying to talk out going with the rangers to the ranger station, Cote, possibly alerted by the sight of the guns suddenly recognized Mesrine and Mercier, leading to Mesrine and Mercier to shoot and kill the rangers. -- Last edit: 2022-12-31 08:09:24 |

eLMer ![]() | The hood emblem looks more like a 1958 one. From what is visible, it could be a stake or platform too. And it's impossible to identify the exact model (31, 32, 36 or 38?). |

Neptune ![]() | ![]() Two or more trucks were used. There are slight differences in them, including the grille work. The one in the thumbnail capture has grille work from the 1975 model year period. Which is wrong, given that the grille trim incases the turn signal lamps, which are amber; they should have clear lenses. -- Last edit: 2010-08-29 20:47:15 |

medimanic ![]() | Vanden Plas has been a glorious British maker at first but yes in the eighties was a high class trim level for several Leyland/Rover products. At a first sight, this particular example doesn't seem a Vanden Plas SD1 to me. Vanden Plas externaly visible equipment was including: electric sunroof, 4 headrests & leather or velvet upholstery, headlamp washers, aluminium (painted) wheels, chromed tailpipe end and Vanden Plas badging. The only certain thing about this car is that is post 1982, so restyled with new face air grill, bumpers and lower ending rear windshield for better visibility. But I can't see any Vanden Plas features.. -- Last edit: 2009-04-08 12:36:28 |

philr ![]() | Yes, the Bel Air and Impala models were more common but there were still some Biscaynes sold here. The newest one I saw was a 1974 and that was many years ago. My great uncle who was a Catholic priest had a 1978 Bel Air when he died in the early eighties. He was driving fast and scared old ladies on the street that's named after him! Link to "maps.google.ca" According to my grand mother, people used to say: "tassez-vous, v'la l'abbé!". Here's a picture that I found that partially shows his Bel Air: Link to "www.flickr.com" -- Last edit: 2011-09-29 09:34:56 |

chris40 ![]() | @sixcyl - from Wikipedia: 'On 6 July 1953 the SGACC ordered two prototypes and two static airframes for fatigue testing. Sud's design licensed several fuselage features from de Havilland, a company Sud had dealings with for several earlier designs. The nose area and cockpit layout were both taken directly from the Comet, while the rest of the plane was locally designed.' |
