Gamer DEThis one seems to have been leftover stock that was sold: V 230 built April 1, 1998 in Charcoal Black Metallic but not delivered until November 26, 1999!

Maybe it has something to do with this?

dsl SXSeems the Rover was exported to France at least:
"MY FIRST ROVER BACK IN FRANCE WAS A 213 SE AUTO, 1986, WITH THE "SMALL" BOOT(LID) IT WAS A VERY GOOD CAR, ALTHOUGH QUITE SMALL INSIDE COMPARED TO THE MAESTRO I GOT LOANED DURING SERVICING FROM GARAGE DU LION FORT IN ORLEANS BUT THAT 1.3/A(+?) ENGINE AND CHEAP INTERIOR WERE A LET DOWN. AS FOR THE 2ND ONE, IT WAS THE 216 EFI VDP SAME PRICE AS A BMW316, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO FORK OUT EXTRA FOR PAS, EL/WINDOWS, CENTRAL LOCKING AND THAT LEATHER & WOOD AMBIENCE. BACK THEN, ROVER, IN FRANCE WAS ON A PAR WITH VOLVO AND BMW IN THAT UP-MARKET NICHE... THEN THEY WERE STILL PUTING THEM IN THE SAME SHOWROOM AS THE M CARS FROM AUSTIN AND YES THEY WERE LOOKING MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THEIR PRICE TAG, AND MAYBE THEY COULD HAVE BEEN TRIUMPH AS WELL, ESPECIALLY THE EFI VERSIONS, LOTS OF GRUNT IN THEM, LIKE THE RANGE TOPPER DOLOMITE." Gag Halfrunt wrote there was a UK-built version of the Ballade, which was presumably exported to other European markets

....only if produced in LHD. We've only 2 Honda Ballades on the whole site - one of which in a HK film is RHD /vehicle_104020-Honda-Ballade-1984.html - could this have been made in UK?
2010-09-20 12:43
Gag Halfrunt UKNo, there was a UK-built version of the Ballade, which was presumably exported to other European markets:
Quote The Honda badged version was the first Honda car to be built in the United Kingdom (the Honda equivalent of the 200 Series' predecessor, the Triumph Acclaim, was never sold in the UK). Ballade bodyshells, and later complete cars, were made in the Longbridge plant plant alongside the Rover equivalent, with the Ballade models then going to Honda's new Swindon plant for quality control checks.

dsl SXDid the Rover 213 [SD3] tie-up mean Honda were not allowed to sell this Civic in Europe? 2010-09-20 12:07
antp BEMaybe southern (Spain) or western europe then? As there they usually like sedans, hence the Renault Clio sedan which did not exist in France/Belgium/Germany 2010-09-20 11:55
tonkaTRACKER USthe sad thing is that I knew Ballade was Japan (well atleast I knew that the CR-X was Ballade in Japan) but wiki said the sedan was sold in Europe as the Ballade and once again I listened when I shouldn't have  2010-09-20 03:19
antp BEBallade was in Japan indeed.
I do not remember having ever seen the sedan version in Belgium, just the hatchback, so I guess it was not sold in EU.
2010-09-20 00:28
ingo DENo, the name Ballade ws not used in Germany.

Maybe I should think about Gag's comment, that this is a Japan-version here. The Europe-version had the plate between the back lamps, so it looks different.

Otherwise in Germany smaller Sedan's were always very unpopular (except 1990+ in the former DDR). Here the Hatchback-versions (of all kind of small and semi-small cars of every brand) were always preferred. See the actual offers of 1980-1990 Civic's:

Oops, I have to correct myself: I mixed up Honda and Mitsubishi. I drove once the "Civic Shuttle".
2010-09-20 00:21
tonkaTRACKER USI was referring to rjluna's comment as he seemed confused. @ ingo you may know these sedan versions as Honda Ballade, (I believe that is what they were called in EU)

ingo DEMy problem is, that I cannot remember, that I've ever seen this Sedan-version here. The others for sure, the Space Wagon-version I've even driven by myself. 2010-09-19 23:58
Gag Halfrunt UKIt's a used import from Japan - right hand drive and with the number plate sitting awkwardly on the bumper.

Sandie SXWe've had this argument a lot the past few days.

2010-09-19 15:50
dsl SXIf you look at all the Mondeos already on the site, we seem to have far too many under the sequence:
1993+ Mk1
1997+ Mk2
2001+ Mk3
2007+ Mk4
for it to be worth changing. The Mk1-4 sequence is not wrong or misleading so why not keep it? Changing everything to Mk1-3 would be very time consuming; while it may be slightly more accurate as some people argue, it doesn't really give a useful improvement.
2010-09-19 15:14
potter HUYes it is a Mondeo MK2. Why? The first 93-Mondeo debut in this 96-in thoroughly updated (many believe this is the MK2 is not), it is manufactured until 2000. In 2000 he came out of the "New Edge", this Mondeo MK2 it in production until 2007. The MK3 is in 2007. This is now being updated.
