tore-40 NOAgree with your edited comment (Might have been added as a new comment?) as no vent window (main image), a wide and low grille and the number plate position show a Serie 2 1974-76. As you have stated, 230.6 or 240D were available. The higher rear door indicate a Binz convertion. 2016-03-31 11:23
zodiac SEThe product information is not entirely correct; no [W 114] were (as far as I can tell) ever fitted with a M 115 engine and called 200, and like wise no 200 was built on a [W 114] chassis.

If http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Kategorie:W114/W115 is correct, and so far it has been just that, no Ambulances had such a small engine as the M 115. Instead the alternatives were (if assuming it was made MY 1968-73:
- Mercedes-Benz 220 D [W 115] and
- Mercedes-Benz 230 [W 114].

In Sweden, the Diesel versions were considered too slow, and thus all Mercedes-Benz Ambulances were built on a 230 chassis. Any possibilities to hear the engine?

Edit:
Is there any more pictures available to be able to see the front doors?
At the moment I cannot see if it has quarter windows and small door rear virw mirrors (MY 1968-73) or no quarter windows and bigger rear view mirrors (MY 1974-76).

If the latter made MY 1974-76 the alternatives were:
- Mercedes-Benz 240 D [W 115] or
- Mercedes-Benz 230.6 [W 114].

I also believe the body work is made by Binz with the model name Europ 1200 L /vehicle.php?id=877284 .

Agree. Strange effect for the grille, but shapes are right. DL or Super. Also means this one can have a home

dsl a écrit ^ I have a collection of Glass's Car Check books which are stuffed with such details. Assembled over the years from ebay, they used to be fairly cheap because no-one had really heard of them, but now they're becoming more valuable because DVLA accepts their chassis number evidence as proof for classic car re-registrations.

Ok I understand now! Thanks for answering! :king:

dsl a écrit If 304, headrests were fitted - in UK at least - from Aug 75. However 204 had headrest mounting points from Sept 72 which I assume also applied for 304.

How do you know all of this? I'm genuinely interested

ingo a écrit I thought for a second about a Rootes-crap Avenger, but I'd rather gor for Mazda

It does somewhat resemble a 1973-77 Mazda 929:
[Image: mazda_929_per_european_nomenclature_photographed_in_belgium_ie_europe_but_aka_mazda_luce_elsewhere.jpg]

Or maybe something from Mitsubishi or Datsun (like an early Violet or something).

ingo DEthe taillight looks like from the 60ies VW T1. But this means not too much, as this was a -still available as new- Bosch- and Hella- standard part.

And it was used as aftersales market part for other vans with too small taillights, too, as for the Ford FK1000 and the DKW Schnellaster.

dsl SXMay have been some limited DK assembly. We have one Mk2 Estate and a Corsair marked as DK assembly, plus loads of late 60s/early 70s Taunuses, but I'm not sure if Mk3 Cortinas were included as well. Police car use suggests it was possible if there was a policy of preferring home-made choices over pure imports. 2016-03-27 21:57
