ingo DEIn the background of the thumbnail you can spot a Datsun, a Simca (Aronde?), probably something British (Morris Minor?) and a Wartburg 311/312.

dsl SXBellet 1600 GT finished 5th (#52) on 1968 1000 Lakes rally, 6th (#36) and 7th (#39) in 1969, and 7th (#19) in 1970, but none of those numbers match photos. 2011-10-18 01:01
dsl SX1969 1000 Lakes rally, #27 Timo Mäkinen/Pekka Keskitalo Saab V4, finished 4th. 2011-10-18 00:39
dsl SXNot an RS - they did not exist in 1970. ETW 881G was a works Twin Cam registered in August 69 which won the 1969 1000 Lakes rally driven by Mikkola/Jarvi (main and 1st thumb). 2nd thumb is 69 European Touring car race with more Twin Cams - #35 is Ford Cologne works car, #33 Alan Mann team (supported by Ford UK). 2011-10-18 00:36
dsl SX1968+ dashboard. Does this livery mean anything locally, especially as there are 2 in 2nd thumb - a known team?? Not a Sport as no slatted rear grille.

lord_hevonen FITo me this was a huge disappointment. Clumsy and preachy anti-car film with exceptionally uninteresting characters. Ironically the motoring scenes and cars are the thing that makes it worth watching.

Prowlerx USI've wanted to see this movie in a lifetime. What caught my attention while reading the description was how people shared their philosophy behind the automobile and it's trade. This sounded very special to me as I always wanted to hear deeper theories as to why we drive cars and what makes them so special in life. 2008-05-13 16:54
BeanBandit FII think you're right.
Examining this picture, it is what you say.

BeanBandit FIThe filming locations are Helsinki and Vantaa. 2008-05-12 23:16
Raul1983 FII'm 100% sure it's a Büssing. Probably LS-series "Burglöwe", production started about 1958 and lasted to late 1960's. 2008-05-12 23:10
Ray B. FRIt is. 2008-05-12 22:41
DynaMike NLYes, Büssing-name is written on the bonnet. But is it really one ? I don't think so :/ 2008-05-12 22:22
Weasel1984 PLI really like rally versions of this one. 2008-05-12 22:19
DynaMike NLThe side windows don't look like the standard ones... (too small). Could this be a converted Transporter ? 2008-05-12 22:19
Weasel1984 PLInteresting! 2008-05-12 22:18
Weasel1984 PLYes. 2008-05-12 22:17
DynaMike NLIs that a Skoda Octavia on the left? 2008-05-12 22:17
DynaMike NLAnd an Opel Kadett [A] in the background. 2008-05-12 22:16
Raul1983 FIThis location looks so familar. BeanBandit do you have an idea where this was? 2008-05-12 22:15
DynaMike NLYes, a 170 S. Or a 220 (with built-in headlights...). 2008-05-12 22:15
Ingo DERepainted? I doubt, if this light blue was available in the late 50ies. I only know it from VW's of the late 60ies. 2008-05-12 22:15
rpcm PT1962+ [Typ 31]. 2008-05-12 22:13
DynaMike NLGreat ! Two PL17. The best visible one is a 1960 [L1], the other one seems to be a similar model :) 2008-05-12 22:13
rpcm PT1968 or 1969 ( by the G-suffix reg. ) RS, but I don't know the exact designation. 2008-05-12 22:11
rpcm PT1960+ [105E] 2008-05-12 22:07
rpcm PT1967+ 2008-05-12 22:06
rpcm PTBy the front grille it's a 1968+ Cooper or a Cooper S MkII. Since the numberplate covers the front badge, it can be a Austin or a Morris. 2008-05-12 22:05
rpcm PTAlthough sporting front indicators, they are not placed correctly: they should be more near the headlight. The size and position of the windscreen wipers confirm it's an early car and by what is possible to understand of the design of the interior section of the passenger door below the window, I would say it's a 1956/57 car. I think the term Limousine was also used and it's an Export or Deluxe trim car. 2008-05-12 22:02
skywatcher68 USI believe that's Savoy trim. 2008-05-12 22:01
Ingo DEDon't say that too convinced! Perhaps the guy checks the oil or the cooling-water. ;) 2008-05-12 21:33
Ingo DEbig back window, so a later one (1965 or 1966+, I guess) 2008-05-12 21:30
BeanBandit FINot only the winker, it still has a fuel filler under the front hood. 2008-05-12 21:29
