dsl a écrit The Consul Classic with or without 315 and Capri with/without 335 has been debated before on these pages - seems European destinations were marketed with the numbers, but not emphasised in UK.

In the French ad I linked above the Consul sedan is referred to using number designation. The Capri (the subject of the ad) isn't.

dsl SXYes - MG 1100. Wolseley and Riley 1100s not launched until Sept 65. VdP 1100 possible for date and popular in F, but details do not match. 2016-06-15 22:15
dsl SXNot sure I can see a bonnet badge, but Austin was common in F. 63+ handlebar bumpers, could be normal 850 Super Deluxe or maybe Cooper (but not S). 2016-06-15 21:58
dsl SXLong answer: Ford were trying to establish the sub-brand Ford Consul in the early 60s, covering the original Consul Mk2 [204E/205E], the Consul Classic, the Consul Capri, the Consul Cortina and the Consul Corsair, but abandoned the idea halfway through. So Consul 375 was up and running, Classic became Consul 315, Capri the Consul 335, Cortina was about to be launched as Consul 225 and maybe Consul 440 (unsure about this, but it survived as a system on Aus-built cars with 220/240/440 for different door and engine combinations. No number found for what the Consul Corsair might have had, but it was originally intended to launch as Consul Classic Mk2.

The Consul Classic with or without 315 and Capri with/without 335 has been debated before on these pages - seems European destinations were marketed with the numbers, but not emphasised in UK.

zodiac SEIndeed a Zephyr grille. 1958+ because of the unitary grille with a centre badge, 1959+ as stated above. 2016-06-15 21:24
zodiac SEHere's Link to "bringatrailer.com" a picture from a 1977 Peugeot 404 Pick up. Which doesn't make any sence as the film was made in 1965. 2016-06-15 21:22
fortengo HUI think the car is a BMC ADO16 from the higher end of the range: an MG, a Wolseley or a Riley. 2016-06-15 21:16

zodiac SEDoes anyone know what those number meant?

There was at least one other Consul at the time, the Consul 375 http://www.classicperformanceford.com/Ford_Consul_375_445XUJ/page01.htm .

tore-40 NOBased on the 315 the Capri was named 335, but this wasn't used in the sales name? (This was not the chassis code, btw) 2016-06-15 21:05
zodiac SE1959+ "Low Line" because of the brightwork around the head lights and front windscreen.

The distance between the door and the front wheel arch seems long enough for a Zephyr.
It's not a Zodiac because the side strip is stright; it was bent on the Zodiac to hide the division between the two colours as all Zodiacs were painted in a different colour beneath the side strip. That is from the beginning at least, some have been resprayed.
