Weasel1984 ![]() | Yes. The very late LO 2501s were also very similar (especially when we see them without the hood/grille ), but seems all of them had still the "skirt" below the front bumper, so the 3000 B21 is much more possible. |

dsl ![]() | Here's a gold one for ingo, from N Yorkshire: They had a phase after the 2012 Olympics of painting a postbox gold in the home town/village of every GB gold medal winner. This is Hebden, where Andy Hodge (rowing) grew up. |

ingo ![]() | My impression is, that in SCO you can find more of such very old letterboxes than in the rest of the UK. Lochgoilhead: ![]() Even older, I think. In Ardmay: ![]() |

dsl ![]() | Possibly the E end/start of A82 Great Western Rd as it heads west from the flyover from the M8 on NW fringe of Glasgow city centre - for ingo this is a few hundred yards from the Glasgow Piping Centre, which was the location of the imcdb haggis-eating orgy. | 2013-10-16 23:24
Q-Ball ![]() | The grille insert indicates a 1973-74 only model | 2013-10-16 23:03

dsl ![]() | Post-1953 Scottish post boxes have ER instead of EIIR as ingo's comment, because the current Lizzie is the first one of that name to reign over Scotland, which was a separate country/kingdom when Lizzie I ruled England. Main picture is Hyndland Rd (Glasgow) at the junction with Clarence Drive. 4th thumb is Hyndland St (not a bus route) looking downhill/south to the junction with Dumbarton Rd - the Comet store - now closed - on the far side is where I bought this laptop I'm tapping away on. | 2013-10-16 21:51

kudos ![]() | After 1953, post boxes in Scotland have worn the Crown of Scotland rather than Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Cypher, after several acts of vandalism on post boxes wearing the latter. See 'The Ballad of the Inch' (http://www.campin.me.uk/Embro/Webrelease/Embro/17riot/text/Inch.htm) and 'Sky-High Joe' (http://www.scotsindependent.org/features/singasang/skyhigh.htm). -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 17:48:25 |

ingo ![]() | Am I correct, that on the letterbox on the main pic (besides the traffic lights for rjluna2) is the inscription "ER"? |

rjluna2 ![]() | Looks like 1973 front bumper. | 2013-10-16 20:15
G-MANN ![]() | Despite the C-reg plate (which doesn't seem to check out) that generation of Fiesta wasn't released til 1989. I'm guessing they stuck that plate on it. -- Last edit: 2013-10-16 20:15:43 |
