dhill_cb7 ![]() | Correct. Aus doesn’t use MYs but Toyota does. We go off the VIN. Toyota’s build sheet says DLX. I can remove pending further documentarion. Do happen to have brochures? Find it odd the build sheet lists the trim level but yet as you mentioned they were not used? GRADE: DLX: DLX TYPE DESTINATION: ARL: AUSTRALIA DRIVER'S POSITION: RHD: RIGHT-HAND DRIVE CABIN: XTR: EXTRA CAB ENGINE: 3RZFE: 2700CC EFI FUEL SYSTEM: EFI: ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION (GASOLINE) TRANSMISSION: ATM: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUILDING CONDITION: CBU: COMPLETELY BUILT UNIT COLOR CODE: 058 TRIM CODE: FW10 General Year 09/2002 Make TOYOTA Model HILUX Frame RZN154 All from the build sheet. |

Z2 ![]() | We don't have model years in Australia. DLX trim name was never used here. The mid-grade trim had no name at the time (base model was called Workmate, while high end was SR5). Mid-grade only got a name in 2005 (SR). By the way, can you check the VIN on this one? /vehicle_16720-Toyota-Hilux-N60-1999.html I also included the VIN in the comments on a number of other Hiluxes, you could check those too. |
2021-04-09 16:51 | ||
dhill_cb7 ![]() | It was built 9/02 so a 2003 MY. DLX trim level and correct chassis code is [RZN154]. | 2021-04-08 19:50

Z2 ![]() | 1997 based on the plate. Doesn't return anything, but other plates in the QZC9-- series return 1997 Toyotas. | 2020-06-03 23:09
Z2 ![]() | /vehicle_713964-Ford-Fairmont-XE-1983.html | 2020-05-25 11:59
Z2 ![]() | Plate returned 1987 when last checked years ago, but no longer does. Must therefore be a hatchback due to the bumper (sedans got new wrap-around front indicators in the late 1986 facelift, but hatches didn't). "CS" grade due to the grille but lack of passenger side mirror (CS grade sedans had two mirrors). Could be either AE80/AE82 depending on the engine, as the smaller 1.3L was still offered on S/CS grade hatches but not on sedans. -- Last edit: 2020-05-19 20:07:31 |

MisterZ ![]() | Plate returns: 2008 "2.0" trim. | 2020-01-29 14:04
MisterZ ![]() | 07/2002+ ("MY03") model due to "symmetrical AWD" badge on the right. Earlier models simply had "AWD". Also, the centre rear headrest, I believe, was not initially available in earlier years. Also, plate "YSG" was issued in 2003. Note: aside from Liberty, other Subaru models in Australia also gained the "symmetrical AWD" badge in 2002, including the new SG Forester, as well as the "MY03" Impreza facelift. Looks like a base model "GX" trim (2.0L), as most other variants had a rear spoiler. Other variants (which all had the 2.5L) also had a "2.5" badge on the left. -- Last edit: 2020-01-29 13:41:31 |

MisterZ ![]() | Information about this vehicle ITP001 (note that the plate is now on a 2009 Ferrari): Link to "www.shannons.com.au" In summary, although it looks like a 2009+ HSV, this vehicle is actually a 2006 build. It started out as a HSV Senator, but it was "made over" into a GTS by HSV themselves in December 2006. Later in it's life, it was again "made over" into a series II (E2) with the facelifted front end and new wheels. The car has been in numerous magazines. The colour is not standard, its called "Lamborghini Verde". So, it should be listed as 2006 HSV GTS. Basically, it's still an HSV, but it's just undergone 2 conversions instead of 1 (all HSVs are converted Commodores). There is, however, one clue that this car wasn't originally a GTS - the chrome trim around the window frames. Only Senators (based on Calais) had this chrome. Clubsport/GTS had black trim around the windows (note that the VF GTS re-introduced the chrome trim around the windows). -- Last edit: 2019-12-06 11:45:22 |

MisterZ ![]() | Not a Ford Laser. This is a 2001 [BJ] Mazda 323 Protégé. Both Laser and Protégé were available in this same maroon paint colour, which makes them hard to distinguish, but the headlight shape and front quarter panel here can only be Mazda. Painted door handles and black trim around windows make this either 1.8L or 2.0L. Base 1.6L models (only sold until 2002) had black door handles, mirrors, and body-coloured trim around the window frames, except "Shades" models which had painted mirrors. -- Last edit: 2019-12-24 01:35:08 |
