carmaker1 ![]() | I see your point, as if this program/movie had aired sometime in the '90s, one could expect it in original OEM part condition. Could've been modified, but I'd say it's really a 1995 model. Who knows really. |

Neptune ![]() | It’s in base Custom Deluxe trim and fitted with a snow plow attachment. It has shift-on-the-move four-wheel drive, as the offset front differential and live drive axle indicate. So it is indeed a K-20 pickup. |

Neptune ![]() | Not technically accurate. The (then) new Range Rover long wheelbase was indeed introduced in late 1992, but as a 1993 model, keeping with the new model year. The long wheelbase (108") model was a full 8 inches longer than the standard wheelbase (100") model. This extra length showed in the rear doors, which were stretched to accommodate the new form factor. Also new to the Range Rover for 1993 was the first use of electronic traction control (ETC). The system included drive-wheel slip (spin) sensing, and if excessive drive-wheel slip was detected, ETC would apply the brakes to the spinning wheel. The braking introduced resistance, forcing more torque to the opposing drive-wheel. For the first time ever, this allowed the Range Rover’s four-wheel drive system to perform as if it had a mechanical limited-slip rear differential, even though it was actually still a conventional rear differential. Both front and rear differentials were conventional, only the centre differential featured an actual locking function. ETC only functioned at the rear-wheels. The front drive-wheels were still rather helpless if one of them lost complete traction. "All-wheel" or "4-wheel" electronic traction control would not arrive until six more years, for the 1999 model year. |
