Some cars were prepped for the actual chase, others for the roll, and others for an element wherein the two cars were actually joined together on a special rig that allowed full control of the rate of spin that occurred when the Land Rover hit the Audi. Also, as with all large budget movie productions, each element of the film has multiple cars prepped for the same gag (2 cars to go on the rig, 4 cars prepped to roll, etc). Thank you Darren.
