General Dynamics M1A1 'Abrams' G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (2009)	Evil Tim	Actually, it's pretty easy to tell this is an A1; the A2 has a large cylinderical device in front of the loader's MG, the CIS or CITV (Commander's Independant Sight / Commander's Independant Thermal Viewer) while the A1 has a circular cover that looks like a manhole cover over the mounting hole. Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" This is an M1A2 with the CIS visible (it also has the TUSK body kit, though that can go on either version). This site has most of the mocked-up tanks wrong, unfortunately; as far as I'm aware only the tanks in Courage Under Fire and Cradle 2 The Grave are Centurions, almost all the others are the three vismod Chieftains belonging to a California outfit called Army Trucks Inc. They're actually not hard to tell apart from real Abrams, since they have things like: Driver's periscopes mounted on the hull with a rectangular driver's hatch (the Abrams has a V-shaped hatch with the periscopes mounted on top of it). Fume extractor mounted halfway along the gun instead of on the first third. A large V-shaped splash guard on the glacis place which shouldn't be on an Abrams. Ribs on the sponsons (the parts of the hull above the tracks) which seperate removed stowage boxes on the Chieftain and aren't on the Abrams at all. The Courage Under Fire Centurbrams is different again; most obviously the driver's hatch is offset to one side of the hull rather than being in the middle under the gun. It has a spare roadwheel mounted where the CIS plate should be, and the front on the gunner's sight is a solid plate whereas the Chieftain vismods have an open front with glass sight panels. I made a list a while back, AT Inc Chieftain is misidentified as a Centurion on Jarhead, Jericho, Hulk, Iron Man, Cloverfield, Southland Tales, The Day the Earth Stood Still, D-War and Malcolm in the Middle, and as an Abrams on The Kingdom.	2012-05-28 07:28
