mrcadillac ![]() | "qwerty 86": The differences sometimes are subtle. As a general rule, the "Fleetwood" will always appear more "massive" than the "De Ville", to give the buyer the feeling he's getting more car for his dollar. Usually it will have a more stubby "B" pillar [between the 2 doors] than the "De Ville". The latter will always look "lighter" and mor "airy" than the "Fleetwood". BTW, "antp" it is usually VERY EASY to identify the year and model of ANY Cadillac from around 1926 to around 1981-82, just by looking at a NON-FUZZY pic of the front and/or rear clips. Before those years, styling evolution was more subtle; you need to look at factory documentation to steer you in the right direction. After 1981-82, 100% identification becomes a bit more tricky as the maker tries to save on production costs by incorporation fewer changes in body styling and trim each year. |

qwerty_86 ![]() | Is there really a difference between a Deville and a Fleetwood aesthetically? I know the Fleetwood and Deville share the same body for a while (mainly from '77 to the late '80s) and mainly differed in options and packages. | 2006-04-25 06:19 | ||
