dsl ![]() | Plate info doesn't match the car shown - even if I'm wrong about 1960-ish +4 (and I don't think I am reviewing it again), it's a 4 seater. Maybe the plate has moved since filming to a 1978 4/4 2 seater?? | 2023-02-23 14:35

ginkelvanmichiel ![]() | I did some research, and I found out that the car pictured here had a Dutch licence plate, which was painted white: It looks like a Spanish plate, but it isn't. It makes clear that the car was actually built in 1969, and was registered around february 1970. It's a typical Dutch plate; including format and font. 08-28-PG it is! ![]() |

an_unusual_eye ![]() | ~ for the U.S. cars, in the 2nd half of the 1974 model year (which was the only year that the 260Z was sold here), the 260Z got the larger bumpers of the 1975-76 280Z model that was to follow. other countries never got the 280Z cars at all, and also never got the larger federally mandated bumpers of the late 1974 U.S. 260Z. for most markets, the 260Z sold through the 1978 model year wearing these bumpers, that were the same as the 1970-72 model year U.S. 240Z bumpers, minus the bumper guards. |

an_unusual_eye ![]() | based on the tail light style, i'm almost certain that this has to be a a 260z rather than a 240z in any market... i'm not sure where the "1977" came from (perhaps someone ran the plate?). 1977 could quite possibly be correct - as the 260z, which only ran one year in the U.S. (for 1974) did continue longer in other markets. the tail light style could as early as 1974, but those alloy wheels didn't start showing up on the market until around 1976 or so. presuming they're original to the car, 1977 is probably as good as anything, but... 260z. | 2010-02-24 17:34

Animatronixx ![]() | They often had the sideguards and I think this could be factory-made. You´re right, the crest resembles the Tabbert logo, but I don´t know if they built motorhomes on the Blitz chassis. This is probably a regular van with some windows mounted afterwards. johnfromstaffs ![]() | I'm not surprised that the Rootes Group's products were little known in Germany. They were, in general, not very good cars and my feeling is that they would not have found a market against the cars from the German factories. My employer gave me an estate car as part of my package, and I had four Hillman Hunters between 1972 and 1977 aveaging about forty thousand miles a year. The Hunter was not too bad, being rather like a Mark 2 Cortina, but was about five years too late as Ford were then producing the Mark 3 Cortina! I was glad to change my job! |

DynaMike ![]() | @carobserver: AFAIK the DS wasn't produced in Spain, but they have been sold there. But it's true I can only find GS/GSA and CX in Palas version. We have listed /vehicle.php?id=107234 , /vehicle.php?id=15242 and /vehicle.php?id=37574 ... Maybe these Palas-names should be changed to Pallas as they might be private imports (all are classical cars in newer movies). Indeed the car shown here might have non-Spanish plates. @Citsa: Indeed it is not possible to distinguish between the 21 and the 23. So I choosed the smallest possible engine size (that might be the most probable as well if this car was sold new in Spain) Btw. I lost your e-mail address (my computer crashed). Could you send me an e-mail please? |
