robi ![]() | Please change name to: 1936 BMW 326 Polizei-Tourenwagen An open tourer, custom-built for police and other authorities. The front (grille, size & position of headlights, fenders) matches, as well as the windshield. The bumper however seems to have been replaced with a different one (the 326 originally had a double-bumper). Also the regular BMW 326 does not have spare wheels on the front fenders, the police version had them. Link to "www.kfzderwehrmacht.de" |

Robi ![]() | Please set name as: 1929 Citroën AC4 (Class: Chassis Cab) /vehicles_make-Citro%EBn_model-AC4.html I turned the picture, and compared it with many pre-war French trucks. Many things indicate a Citroen AC4: - Position & size of headlights - Position of plate - Position & size of starter crank hole - No bumpers - Shape of fenders |

Robi ![]() | RP = Reichspost ("Reich Mail") Introduced in Hesse in 1905, the Reichspost built up a system of bus routes which were used to transport people and mail. After WW1, the system became more popular, mainly in southern Germany, because the northern part already had a rather dense rail network. |

Robi ![]() | Location: Berlin; Schlossbrücke bridge (built in 1824), with Berliner Stadtschloss (Berlin City Palace) in the background. Built in 1442 as a residence for the Hohenzollern family, it became the residence of the King of Prussia in 1702, and later the residence of the German emperor in 1871. In 1945, it was heavily damaged during an air raid, further destructions followed in 1949, when Soviet soldiers destroyed statues and windows while producing a film. In 1950, the East German government decided to demolish the building. The GDR later built their Palace of the Republic, which was completed in 1976, and also demolished in 2008. With building works beginning in 2013, the reconstruction of the historic Stadtschloss will be completed in 2019. |

Robi ![]() | Location: Berlin; Charlottenburger Chaussee (today Straße des 17. Juni) & Hindenburgplatz (today Platz des 18. März) looking towards Brandenburg Gate. As visible here, the gate was once open for motorized traffic. When the Berlin Wall was built in 1961, of course no traffic could go through the gate. After the German reunification, traffic was allowed to go through the gate again, but after many discussions, it was closed permanently for cars in 2002. |

Robi ![]() | Location: Berlin; Unter den Linden, looking towards Berlin Cathedral. The building on the left is the Zeughaus (Arsenal), where Generalmajor von Gersdorff intended to assassinate Hitler in 1943, the bridge (with the white van on it) is Schlossbrücke, which was completed in 1824. The street lamp next to the Adler is still in the same place. |

Robi ![]() | Location: Quakenbrück Air Base, near Osnabrück. Footage shows rare Junkers Ju 290 aircraft (only 52 units were produced), belonging to Fernaufklärungsgruppe 5. ![]() Location: Berlin, Alexanderplatz. The train station "Berlin Alexanderplatz" is visible in the background, the buildings in front of it are Alexanderhaus (left) and Berolinahaus (right), which exist still today. Nevertheless, the "Alex" looks much different by now: The square and the street underneath the railway bridge are closed for cars, and the square now has the famous TV Tower built on it. -- Last edit: 2016-08-30 10:11:14 |
