ingo ![]() | Interesting for plate-freaks, too. It seems very much, that this is the authentic plate. It's made from iron, has the slightly different older DIN-font -to see at the "Bavarian S" and, most crucial, the higher hyphen. There are none of these 1950ies tools existing any more and even the big Daimler-Benz AG has no connections about that - for authentic plates in the Mercedes-Benz Museum they have asked us plate-freaks. Quiz question: can anyone imagine the source of this plate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy2ZGn-eqqI ? ![]() |

dsl ![]() | Nothing definite, just a general trend - often broken - that team rally cars (possibly VW Salzburg from plate sequences??) belong to year of the event. 71 event had a few 1302S as well - Klaus Russling/Franz Mikes (finished 3rd), Gernot Fischer/Herbert Kohlweis (4th), Leopold Bosch/Walter (6th) - no details found of rally numbers or plates - so 71 or 72 as you like. | 2014-12-21 13:41

Weasel1984 ![]() | I think yes - must be this. The month from one of the linked descriptions fits. It is written that it ended on 7 November 1964 and in the 1960s car magazine, I own, it is possible to read, that the event lasted about a month and its start was at the begining of october (it was exactly about the 1967 edition in this case). | 2014-12-16 21:51

Weasel1984 ![]() | By the types of cars it can be Argentina indeed. Did the US Chevy II or any of its clones had such overriders? Similar ones were to meet in the Argentinian "400" for sure /vehicles.php?make=&model=chevy+II&page=2 No idea what was the original name of this event, but in the 1960s there was something what was known e.g. in Polish as "Race of the Great prize of Argenitina" - a ca 3300 km long rally. |

The only event I can trace with #129 was 64 Monte Ewy Rosqvist/Eva Falk, Link to "www.doubledeclutch.com" .
