993cc ![]() | Maybe, probably, though note there's a long hiatus between the last race with #720005 and the first with #unknown... edit: but 720005 turns up again in his very last race with a 924 -- Last edit: 2022-01-12 03:35:58 |

dsl ![]() | With #07, it looks like the Canadian car of Heimrath Racing in 1982 livery with Rislone sponsorship at unknown Canadian (or US??) event - compare 2 events pictured here. | 2022-01-12 03:15
993cc ![]() | So this, though reported as Miller/Bedard/Schurti as Busby/Mignot never started, retired https://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/1982/Le_Mans-1982-06-20-086.jpg , note the windscreen band probably says 'Porsche Carrera' but all other similar liveries used read 'Herman Miller'. Which makes this #720008, probably ![]() edit: picture colour is terrible and misleading -- Last edit: 2022-01-12 03:11:36 |

dsl ![]() | I think this is #86 at 1982 Le Mans, 1981 Carrera GTR for Jim Busby/Doc Bundy/Marcel Mignot from the BF Goodrich team, finished 16th; team-mate #87 retired, and both cars ran to IMSA GT spec. http://www.924gt.com/racing.html , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ-pbgqV2x4 | 2022-01-12 02:53
993cc ![]() | These GTP Le Mans 937's were the only ones built in 1980 before the 'normal' production 937's. Maybe I'll do some research on the specific #chassis of these (incl.GTR's). -- Last edit: 2022-01-12 02:51:28 |

dsl ![]() | One of the 3 works 924 Carrera GTP cars at 1980 Le Mans. Up to 6 GTPs were built - 6 chassis nos were allocated, but uncertain how many actually used. | 2022-01-12 02:40

marioman3138 ![]() | Alright I've had a look at this one. First race 1982, so I'd assume 1982 for listing. 1982 Mazda RX-7 254i Mooncraft [FB]. Mazda 13B 2R 1308 cc Rotary - this info just refers to class, not the car itself. https://www.racingsportscars.com/suffix/archive/Mazda/RX-7/254i.html |

Exiv96 ![]() | A few things from the photo. - The car is definitely a 964. Has a rear wing but no enlarged front wheelarches. So no Carrera RSR or Turbo S. - Exxon sticker on the windscreen : IMSA series from 1992 onwards. - Just above the front bumper, a large sticker "Shell mit...". It actually says "Shell mit M2000", and was found on all 964s racing in the german Carrera Cup of the early 1990s. And only there. - The race number on the door is hidden, but it's in a red circle, also typical of the Carrera Cup. With all that, in all logic, it must be a former Carrera Cup car doing a stint across the Atlantic. But were they called "911 Carrera Cup" or "911 Carrera RS" ? |

ingo ![]() | As this seems to be a 1957-car -see the plate- it only can be a 356 A. And with this front window frame it's a Speedster. As obviously filmed on a classic Porsche-meeting, it's very likely, that it's one of the few -and extremely expensive- original Speedster. Usually we only have here different plastic repro-shit of it. -- Last edit: 2013-12-05 23:21:15 |

ingo ![]() | Note the "EXXON"-logo - is there any European country, where this name was used in the past (this film is from 1999)? AFAIK not, the brand was named always "ESSO" over here. |

dsl ![]() | Could well be. | 2013-12-05 23:13
dsl ![]() | It could instead be US for the safety net mesh instead of side window, and that door handle looks old-style. Maybe even a 1969/70-ish car racing several years later?? | 2013-12-05 23:12
ingo ![]() | sure, that it's a grille and not something else, as a display or so? | 2013-12-05 23:09
ingo ![]() | Maybe the approx date is containable by the stickers on the car. | 2013-12-05 23:08
dsl ![]() | Was a 928 ever used as Le Mans course car (see door script, roof lights)?? Side strip suggests 928 S, but the front grille surround is bigger than usual. | 2013-12-05 23:07
dsl ![]() | Mid-70s or later Le Mans??? Rear spoiler looks too big for anything earlier, but narrow arches and not much of a front spoiler, so probably an ordinary private entry. | 2013-12-05 23:03
