Bux_48 ITVery interesting, thank you for the explanation :king: 2022-12-28 19:59
Weasel1984 PLIt was - it is very strange, but it was named this way in Polish brochure of Pol-Mot, so of company which sold them new in the 1980s.
Curiously as "Strada" had to be sold only 2nd series Ritmos, the 1st ones were "Ritmo" and 3rd ones too (I would not exclude that Ritmo II was sold as "Ritmo" for a while too).

1st, I remember I was skeptical, when I was kid, I didn't care to follow badges of these cars ("Ritmo is Ritmo" :D ) and also I'm sure there were privately imported "Ritmos II" mixed with "Stradas", but few years ago fuchs found in the web such car for sale and indeed it had "Strada" badge :wow: So this + brochure is already something.

What we see on the pic is perhaps some Pol-Mot new cars storage lot in southern Poland, as there is no reg. plates and there are also more Ritmos/Stradas there.

Weasel1984 PLAlso this "Polonez Popular" is interesting. It has to be the one without plastic trim. I have a brochure of Polonez Popular (but didn't know from what year it is) and it looks this way. It means, that they were intro. before the martial law... and only later has been renamed to "C" on domestic market. In one Automobilista article it wasn't very clear, but someone would get impression that such cheap Polonez is a martial law product.

130rapid PLNope, we never imported Dacia 1100.
You could buy Renault 10 in Poland (late 60s), if you had special authority's permission - coupon which magically opened limited-access showrooms - and enough sum of... US dollars.

This type of plastic mirror I do not know since when was used in serial production. Similar plastic one was used in some cars since around 1981 too (the scoop is 1981+). The one steered from inside was since 1985. Though it all can depend on trim or factory stockrooms supply.

Similar one in ep. 4 [*]:

Jale PLSome of them may have the replacement of the original, black grill, but buses like this was quite a lot. Maybe Ikarus lost few aluminium details in 1986/1987 (silver stripe above grill, frames of the doors, rubber stripes on the side instead metal ones) ( http://www.przegubowiec.com/bus/katalog/opis28026.htm )

Weasel1984 PLBy the way how the "thresholds" are treated and MO livery, I belive a pre-1980's car (with replaced frames of indicators and removed lower side stripes).
Edit. First cars in new livery were delivered to Militia in ca 1978. So if the front badge is original (1978), it is one of the last in old colors.
By the horns rather PRD than PSK (in MO naming convention).

The market of this model perhaps started a bit later - 1982 or early 1983, but no info so as default 1981.
Edit: 1982 judging by the period "Motor".

Weasel1984 PLSure all had, but in the late 1970's it dissapeared. The late 70's 280.11 and 26 from Warsaw already didn't have it. Well, but if it is really an "04", some still had to have it for a while. Maybe it depends on version. 2010-04-27 19:30
