Classic Enthusiast ENAs previously mentioned, this is Hammond's own car and was featured in Practical Classics (I don't know about a series of articles, I only have November 2006) and also in his Daily Mirror articles. Just to clear things up, she is a 1972 Firenza with a 1256cc engine plus a grille and single headlamps that were shared with the Viva HC. 2012-08-07 17:19

It is one of the last 1st-gen models: the 2nd-gen was launched in April 1996. So there are two different car models for the 1996 model year...

enza72 UKRichard Hammonds vauxhall is indeed a Vauxhall Firenza delux. The delux had single rectangular headlamps with integral sidelights. It also had 13\" wheels with hubcaps. The Firenza SL had 4 round headlamps with sidelights with the indicators, hubcaps or optional rostyles. The Magnum had rostyles. The droopsnoot had dunlop alloy wheels but I believe those were only on the 2300 magnum. The last models were called Viva Magnum.

My car is a 1972 Vauxhall Firenza delux 1256cc. If any of you out there have a spare front indicator lens (plain amber), please let me know cos I have one which is broken. Many Thanks,

ENZA

Are all these DVLA-informations really necessary? I think not. Everyone knows, that all cars at this "Stunt Challenge" were scrapped - so why?

Sorry HeartbreakKid, but you are just cluttering up IMCDB.

dragonboy AUIt's an interactive "game" DVD.
All of those really nice modern cars are from the segment "powerslide Skittles". The stig would drive each one and youd have to guess out of 5 how many would be knocked over in the powerslide. Things like the Audi R8 did very well and knocked them all over while very light cars like the new Jaguar XKR-S did poorly and knocked over only 1.
The 5 vans were part of segment based on the last interactive DVD. Hammond and TG would hide in the van and you had to keep picking the ones he wasnt in as they would explode.
The bowler nemesis was a part of a mini TG cut-scene, a race on a n offroad circuit between it and a motocross bike. Bowler lost.
Finally the Peugeot 106 was another cutscene. How to get over rush hour traffic by hovering above them. Needless to say it was ambitious but rubbish by using a metal frame and hish pressure water from fire engines to launch it of the ground. ALL attempts failed until the peugeot was reduced to just its seat and dashboard.

The early Firenza Deluxe did have plain wheels and hubcaps as here without even wheel-trims, also rectangular head-lights and not the quad-round headlights of the more expensive models.

The "Firenza Deluxe" in the Vauxhall brochure. (link updated)

The full brochure http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/others/firenza/firenza.html

The Viva coupe was a low cost sell out model to use up bodies when Vauxhall found the sales were very poor. Most if not all were sold as 'Viva E' coupes (E for economy) and were the cheapest Vivas. Their actual sales compared with their intended competition, the Ford Capri, was a disastrous flop.

The main pic is unmistakeably a Viva, look at the bog-standard rims. A friend of mine had one, not quite as derelict as this one but no beauty.
