Commentary says there was so much brand new state-of-the-art Russian stuff left behind afterwards, that Brits eagerly seized on it to find out what it was/how it worked - it was all much newer than Russian stuff they'd seen in E. Europe.

These were made in Czechoslovakia by CKD: http://forum.valka.cz/topic/view/38481/CZK-SD-100
Most of Arab T-34's were from Czechoslovak production, since CSSR supplied Egypt and Syria with T-34/85 and SU-100 (148 pcs.) between 1955-57, and later in the 1960's. Some minor numbers of original Soviet made vehicles were also delivered.
