Anyway, Walter, spare parts availability for vintage Audi models is so low to be even necessary to rescue such rotting samples? In Italy, well, Audi started to sell in decent numbers only in the 90s, but maybe in South Africa those were much more common. |

I don't know much about the ZA market, but I think the B1 is rare to find everywhere nowadays. |

Here by us there is a decent availability: restored examples become definitely expensive, but in the countryside it's not so difficult to find cars needing care but at fair prices. Having personally the goal of beginning a youngtimer car restoration this year, I was thinking also to a such model: my grandpa owned two Audi 80s (a B3 and a B4), and some months ago I saw here around his old red B3 fully restored and it was a very big pleasure. |

The one who decided to restore it must be an Audi enthusiast or somehow addicted to this particular model, because the B3 is definitely not the usual kind of car for restorations - very reliable model, but its current value it's quite low, just like the B4 (except the quattro versions). @Alex > good to know that you're looking for those models - if you need some advice when searching one in the future, just let me know it. -- Last edit: 2017-01-21 14:36:53 |

Good luck for your restoration project, but tell to your wallet to prepare for harder times. |
