Commander 57 ◊ 2016-12-28 05:32	This is a 23rd series Super Deluxe or Custom Eight and was introduced in mid 1949 but built on through what would normally be considered the 1950 model year. We list them as 1949 models here unless we have proof that the subject car in question was built late enough in the extended model year to qualify as a 1950 model. Packard did not designate their cars at this time as "1949" or "1950" models and called them all "Twenty-Third Series" models. If we can get a good rear shot we can tell if it is a Super Deluxe Eight or a Custom Eight. (The eggcrate grille was used only on the 22nd series Custom Eights but on the 23rd series, it was extended to the Super Deluxe Eight as well.)
